"I have had poor experience as far as missing an appointment I was talked down too! Then after I have switched doctors they have tried 3 weeks now to get my children records and they just won’t send them ! Now my husband calls they say they have a fee in order for us to have them sent over which is fine but what was the reason for not telling the other doctor office this so it could have been done weeks ago ! That’s very unprofessional! Not mention she states their immunization records are public that the doctor can get them that way that may be so but they still to the records and so forth to be able to go on with any upcoming appointments! Like what they had have all the records as well so what the difference"
"I don’t know if this company can delete Google reviews or what but I have no clue how it has such high ratings when all the other review sites have terrible reviews. I wish I had known before I went here. DO NOT go here. I brought my baby here for her newborn checkup and the first thing Dr. McGhee said was “she’s here for he bilirubin check because it was high in the hospital” then she proceeded to spend 5 minutes trying to even find the hospital result like she hadn’t looked at the records at all. Not to mention the results were normal and she was just there for a routine check. Dr. McGhee was so worried about her bilirubin levels that we didn’t even discuss anything else, including a drastic 1lb weight loss. Her bilirubin was completely normal the day before at the hospital and she was low risk but all Dr. McGhee could talk about was how serious this was. She tried to teach us about it and I mentioned I work in medicine and I understand the importance. She proceeds to ask me what specialty and then says condescendingly “oh you don’t work pediatrics so you wouldn’t know”. She decided to draw blood for the bilirubin levels and I couldn’t believe it when she stuck my infant with a butterfly needle rather than collect from a foot stick. It’s virtually impossible to draw blood from an infant vein. The first time she tried with the lights off and we asked if she wanted them on and she said “no”. The second time she decided she wanted the lights on but she still missed and her hands were shaking. Then she said we needed to go to the pediatric ER IMMEDIATELY to get this drawn because it was SOO important. She kept us in her office for 2 HOURS talking only about bilirubin while delaying us leaving for the hospital. I didn’t even think the hospital was necessary but it’s my new baby so of course we went and spent 3 more hours of our day and of course the result was well within normal. Before we left her office she made me take a bilirubin chart because “the ER is going to need it to determine if her levels are within normal range”. Lady, if the ER doesn’t have access to this chart without me bringing it to them, I’d be worried. Then she had the audacity to schedule us a follow up visit the next day, a Sunday, to discuss the ER results? The bilirubin was normal so why in the world did we need a follow-up and what was she going to talk to us about? Needless to say, we didn’t go and found a new pediatrician the next day. Not to mention this was a routine preventative care visit which is typically covered by my insurance but whatever she billed the visit as ended up costing me $200 PLUS a $2,000 (TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR!!!!) ER bill for literally NOTHING. Edited to add: just found out she billed the “newborn well child visit” as a “general office visit” for the evaluation of bilirubin so it didn’t qualify as preventative care as it should have This lady is seriously a kook and needs to retire ASAP. She put new parents into an unnecessary panic, cost us thousands of dollars, and wasted our whole first day home with our baby for literally no reason. Not to mention we had to go to another pediatrician visit because we couldn’t trust her newborn evaluation after that."
"I just wanted to say how thankful I am for Dr. McGhee! This is our first time coming to this practice and her patience, her kindness and solutions are what make us look forward to her treating our children. I also have to say first impression is everything and her nurse is absolutely amazing ! Her energy her kindness , we certainly recommend !"
"I have been taking all 3 of my children here since they were babies. I have seen Dr. McGhee handle all sorts of challenges with caring professionalism. She made my son's asthma manageable to the point where he could run cross country. Her rooms are color codes so it's makes it almost fun for kids to go to the doctor. The doors to the exam rooms open to the outside which is great for keeping super sick kiddos from the waiting area. This is especially important in times of covid 19. The bad reviews on here are likely due to problems with insurance. I have witnessed first hand rude unreasonable patients giving the staff a hard time about insurance claims. It does not set a good example for your kids when you, as a parent, scream at people trying to help you. Insurance problems are not Dr McGhees fault on her offices staff."
"Do not, I repeat, DO NOT bring your children here. The doctor is rude and frankly, I really feel like she is incompetent. My kids have never dreaded going to the doctor until we started going here. She made my children feel uncomfortable, would never bother to look at her notes prior to entering the room so you really wasted your appointment going over things she should have already known from her notes instead of actually moving forward with the care, only to be told everyone has asthma and allergies (seriously, we started just going to KidMed because sometimes? It's really not allergies) and the only reason I kept going to her as long as I did was because I loved her nurse and one of the receptionists. I finally moved my kids over to another practice and in order for me to get their records transferred a mile down the road?? She charged us EIGHTY ONE DOLLARS. For 18 months of visits. We've NEVER had to pay that much for records to be transferred. Totally ridiculous. Save yourself and your kids the pain and just avoid this practice altogether."
