"Sadie Sheafe showed up to our second appointment introducing herself as though it was our first appointment. When I asked her for written materials, she said she would send it within three days. She eventually sent it after 12 days, one email, and five phone calls to her staff who promised that they would call and text her. When she did respond, she additionally recommended the book Dodging Energy Vampires by a Q-Anon conspiracy theorist, even though at no point had I even discussed difficulties with other people with her. I quit interacting with her office at this point, about three weeks after my first session. Despite advertising as a sex therapist, the system at this office is not designed to be trans-friendly -- if you have not legally changed your name, they require you to identify yourself as your deadname every time you call to make an appointment and all emails will be sent to your deadname, even though they'll "attach your current name to your file," which does nothing to how they refer to you."
"The system in this office is completely out of order, I originally set an appointment to have with Dr. Sheafe, however, the closest appointment that I could get with her was a whole month out. Then I was set to do an intake session with someone else, and this person just continued to add extra session in; and I thought okay cool we can have these sessions until the sessions with Sheafe come up. Well, the third session in and this person caused one of the biggest commotions in my marriage, it was the most unprofessional therapy session that I've ever encountered. So when it finally came time for us to have our session with Sheafe, I literally got three different calls through out the day just to remind me that I had a session with her that night. But when the time came SHE never showed up. I literally waited by my computer, tired calling (no one was in the office), so I left voicemails, I emailed and all. Then she calls 30 minutes after our session was suppose to start, talking about she was not prepared and did have a chance to look over our file. She also stated that we were suppose to stay with this other person until they recommend us to go to her. This absolutely made no sense because her receptionist obviously did not know this process, because they did not say that we had to be recommended by someone else in order to see her. That would have saved me a lot of time because I would've never even started a session had I known that."
