Reviews of Virginia Urology
"After reading reviews from this location (keeping in mind that bad experiences are more often written than good or just ok) I went in expecting a mediocre experience and I was proven very wrong. To give some context, I have spent the last month seeing gynecology specialists to figure out pain and frequency issues I assumed were linked to a UTI (or potentially something bladder related). Both offices I saw either lost or forgot to send out my urine samples on multiple occasions over the course of a month. I spent 100$ on an online UTI medication service to attempt to get relief with no results. Additionally my doctors continuously dismissed my symptoms and told me to speak to my therapist about stress. I knew something deeper was wrong and made an appointment here for an additional perspective. The appointment itself was my first green flag. While this office has the same issue of late starting appointments as many larger offices do, (I think I waited almost an hour - so be prepared to block out extra time). All of the nurses I saw before the doctor were very kind and professional. When I explained my situation to the doctor, she immediately not only acknowledged the reality of my symptoms but had a full plan of attack for testing and treatment options. She also referenced specific details from my appointments with my gyno over the last six months showing she did her research before speaking to me. I didn't have to ask many questions because she explained the plan moving forward with clarity and detail without sacrificing efficiency. I was so grateful for not only being taken seriously but for the clear steps laid out for me to take so I could feel better. Green flag two was how it only took a few days to finally get my urine results and, surprise surprise, I have an infection. My antibiotic prescription was already set up by the time a nurse called to share my results and I can finally breathe a sigh of relief knowing that I have a diagnosis and a clear treatment plan. I am so beyond happy I found this office to help me and can't express enough gratitude to this staff for taking me seriously despite being a weepier than average young woman with hella anxiety. THANK YOU!"
"Problem is they are the largest in the area, so where else do you go? My mom waited an hour to be seen yesterday, while I heard the doctor and a staff member discussing the opening of a restaurant. My husband has been there for prostate issues and would probably give them a one rating."
"My father has been a patient here since March 2021. He has had a catheter in since then and goes for monthly check ins. He almost never sees a doctor unless my other or I demands to see one. He is now currently in the hospital with low kidney function, bladder stones, and a blood infection. This group does not care of its patients. We have complained for months about the severe pain my father has been in and they do nothing for him, except throw medicine at him. They did not run any tests on him to figure out the pain. I am writing a review because I do not know who to complain to. I would like someone to contact me to speak more in depth about our situation."
"Very incompetent when it comes to billing. Went for my annual check up and when I was sent the bill they had billed my insurance 1,000 for a service I didn’t receive. I called multiple times for them to correct it. Took months and it finally was corrected but then I get a bill that I owed money for a service that my insurance covered. It took them a year and a half yes you read that right months of me calling getting a different person each time only to be told that it will go to a review board and I will hear back in 7-10 days. Never heard anything back. After a year and a half I’m told that the reason for the charge is they billed it under a code which my insurance didn’t cover. The service that I received was an annual visit. It should have never taken this long to resolve this issue.......I go to a different place now but I’m just giving a warning to others their billing department has horrible customer service....when I pay to see a doctor I expect good customer service with the visit as well as other departments of the establishment. If I have a concern or a question about a bill it shouldn’t take a year and half to resolve that is unacceptable!!!!"
"Nice and clean although plan on waiting past your scheduled appointment to go in. However the doctors do take the time to spend with you for questions even if it goes past your allotted time slot. If your impatient then go elsewhere but remember this. The time they spend with you past the allotted time is taking up time from others. If your going there them you usually have plenty of questions and concerns so be patient. They don’t ever allow enough time between patients. That’s a management thing not a doctor thing. They make me fell as the care about me unlike another place I won’t mention."
