"Dr. Salem is a great provider. I was in need of psychiatric help when I was pregnant and he was one of the only doctors who would take me. I was turned away multiple times from other providers due to "my condition" I.e being pregnant. I'm not sure where I would be now if he wasn't willing to take me. I remember him saying the first time I met him "we aren't afraid of pregnant women here." Very refreshing. He's willing to treat but he's not overly aggressive. I've never had an issue with the staff they have always been very pleasant to me. I would recommend giving him a try."
"Dr. Saleem is a good practioner. He is flexible and open to anything you may need. Highly recommend."
"Dr. Saleem's staff members are rude and uncaring. You can not ever talk to the lady in billing. They say they take Medicaid, but then tell you when you get there that they DON'T accept Medicaid and want a credit or debit card to cover your appt. They are listed as taking Medicare, but then tell you they don't accept your Medicare even though. They are very limited on the types of Medicare they will take and never take your Medicaid like they say online that they will, leaving you to pay out of your pocket or you won't get service. They also want to discuss all your personal business at the window when you go in, because the billing lady won't talk to you there or call you back when you call there. That is a HEPA violation. PLASE don't go here. If you have depression and anxiety, it will get worse if you go here. Also, Dr. Saleem is not that great either."
"****Update April 15 2022**** Dr. Saleem is a HORRIBLE doctor. He is extremely insensitive! I've been going to see him for almost 4 years. And almost every time that I went to see him I've had to wait 20 to 30 minutes past my appointment time because of other patients that are in with him. My last appointment with him I missed it and I paid a $50 fee for missing the appointment then this last appointment that I had with him he told me if I miss one more appointment they're going to have to "discharge" me. Mind you, I was told this after missing ONE appointment. Meaning find a different doctor. This is incredibly rude and incredibly insensitive and I can't believe that after I've been seeing this doctor for over four years that he would behave this way. He makes his patients wait a ridiculous amount of time ....but let them miss one appointment (and pay for it regardless) and he still tells them they're going to have to find another doctor. If you are looking for a doctor who is empathetic to you and makes time for you do NOT see this man.! There is one person on his staff who is decent otherwise hardly anyone is ever around to answer the phone. He is not warm he is not kind he is not compassionate and he is not empathetic. You would think that with him treating patients who have anxiety and depression he would be more understanding . But you would be wrong! Beware! Find another doctor! ***UPDATE March 19 2020***Front desk girl is absolutely useless. Donna is absolutely useless. Not only is she smug, condescending, and unempathetic she also has no clue how to assess symptoms. It's like she's throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks. And as a previous reviewer noted, she is constantly forgetting to send prescriptions to the pharmacy."
"I appreciate any psychiatrist that seems open to natural methods as well. I initially showed resistance to various medications he suggested for fear of developing a dependence like many have. (Though I have no history of such, it still was possible.) After trying to reassure me that I’d be okay, Dr. Saleem referred me to a holistic therapist for me to try. 5 years later, I’m still with my therapist & Dr. Saleem. I ended up still taking meds later on but I just appreciated him not making me feel bad for initially being resistant. He’s a man of few words & is straight to the point. But, he’s not rude or unfriendly at least in my opinion/experience. He just seems to have a quieter nature & speaks with facts/logic. I’ve been a patient of his for years & will continue to be for as long as he practices."
