"I have PTSD as a result of the care I had here while delivering my child. I rang the call button and had no response from nurses for sometimes up to half an hour, had a nurse bug me for a cervical check after I refused, and missed two meals because I was incorrectly entered in the system as NPO. I left a day earlier than suggested because I just could not take it anymore!!"

"I was admitted on 9/12/23 after an induction with a foley balloon. Had my baby 9/14/23, and was released 9/16/23. Let me tell you I absolutely love this hospital, the team I had, the doctors, the custodians, the women who would bring the food up, the anesthesiologists. I would recommend this hospital to each and every person in my life. If I am ever blessed to have more children it will be at this hospital. I was treated with so much respect, care, love, and patience. When I was discharged and they played a song for me as I left, tears were rolling down my face because I truly felt like this was family.. I sing so many praises to each and every nurse who was assigned to helping me.. I was there for 4 days and each nurse made it her personal duty to make me feel safe and cared for while also keeping my baby top priority.. the anesthesiologist were gentle and supportive… the team who did my cesarean absolutely rocked it, even though I was terrified… my post-partum team I will never ever forget… these ladies were so kind and made me feel so comfortable even when things got real. I am so thankful for this hospital and staff.. 10/10… 5 !!! Will definitely be returning."

"I was admitted into the maternity center of Sentara CarePlex for labor and delivery. The medical staff (from the reception desk to the nurses and physicians) were incredibly professional, compassionate, and wonderful. They make it their mission to ensure you are cared for and treated as not just a patient, but family. The receptionist, Whitney, was so helpful and kind. Nurses Stephanie and Crystalyn were both highly competent, considerate, and nurturing; they went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met and that any concerns I had (which were few) were heard and addressed. The maternity care team even provided gifts for our little one and a celebration dinner for my husband and me. At the end of my stay, Head Nurse Jackie came around to request my feedback so that her team could improve. But how do you improve upon excellence? If you're considering Sentara CarePlex Hospital Maternity Center, give them a chance--you and your little one will not regret it."

"I had such an amazing experience with my labor and delivery here. I was really amazed by their services. Additionally, my baby was delivered by all nurses due to her coming so suddenly and they were nothing short of amazing! They adapted and delivered my baby with the help of not doctor and everything went great!! The entire team is so so sweet and really cared about me and my baby! I am so happy things went the way they did and I had to deliver here because my experience was wonderful! I am so thankful for the ladies that were there the morning of January 9th 2022."
