Reviews of Riverside Regional Medical Center
"Only reason I give this place 3 stars and not 4 is because of the ER. The ER needs a MAJOR overhaul. More staff and more room. The nurses try but don’t seem to have resources to help. The floors are pretty good. My mom was cared for VERY well on 4th and 2nd floor of pavilion. The PA with Dr Romanos office is amazing. I think her name is Leah. This woman explained everything in the best manner I’ve ever experienced. You can tell she really loves her job and cares about her patients."
"I am very disappointed and frustrated with the service and treatment of this hospital. My uncle has been admitted here for over a week, and we have not seen his doctors or received any updates on his condition. Until recently a new doctor came in with a complete understanding of what his situation is looking like , without her we would still be in the dark. The nurses are doing their absolute best, but they are clearly overworked and understaffed. They can only tell us to wait and be patient, but we are running out of time and options. We have requested to transfer my uncle to another hospital that has better facilities and specialists, but the process is taking too long and we are getting no answers. We feel like we are being ignored and neglected by the hospital administration. This is unacceptable and unethical. My uncle deserves better care and respect. He is not just a number or a case, he is a human being with a family that loves him and worries about him. This hospital has failed to provide quality care and service to my uncle & family. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone who values their health and well-being. This hospital needs to improve its communication, coordination, and compassion, or else it will lose its reputation and trust. I hope no one else has to go through what we are going through."
"I flew in from Texas on Saturday after my father called me sounding stressed and frightened. I have not left this hospital since. I've informed them that I will not be leaving this hospital without him. After, being here for several days...I understand his uneasiness. I am concerned for his safety myself. Things are just not adding up with anything they say. In one breathe it's cancer but in the next breathe it's not. In one breathe he won't survive travel to another hospital and in the next breathe, he can be transported in a car. Supposedly, he was well enough to leave the hospital on his own last Tuesday now he just needs to go to hospice care to live out the rest of his days. The one doctor I talked to before I came here was so unprofessional, that I questioned if I was really speaking to a doctor. He is being treated as if he has no family and unnecessary poking and prodding is giving me abusive vibes. I appreciate the nursing staff and the case manager. The three of 4 doctor's I have spoken to on the other hand are poor excuse for doctors. Unfortunately, for them, my father has people that love him and my next step will be to get the news involved. I've been trying to get him transferred out of here for days and again, I'm just getting the run around which makes me wonder what they are hiding. I seriously question some the surgery's they have done. I was told his pancreas was removed. However, multiple family members said they never heard that. He didn't know that. I've witnessed a doctor intentionally try to confuse him until I stepped in. He is on antibiotics for cancer? make it...make sense."
"I gave birth here twice and was immediately admitted both times. Walked right in and was given clear directions to the labor ward, even offered a wheelchair. My labor and delivery team was phenomenal. Very professional and extremely supportive. I had the pleasure of having Kelly during both of my births. No one tried to force procedures on me and they never tried to convince me of anything outside of my birth plan. They did lightly try to sway me to stay with my birth plan (and I'm glad they did) as it would've broken my heart to change it. Seriously tempted to move back just for their care if I get pregnant again. Care over the next few days was great but food was edible at best. They messed up potatoes 3 ways but it's hospital food, not gourmet dining. Discharge took half a day each time to make sure we had all necessary information for the babies."
"This is an ER ONLY review. NOT the hospital and entire staff. Not all hospitals are created equally, yet for those of us who are considered common folk the back story remains the same. Almost two weeks ago I was taken to Riverside. I already expected a 2-3hour wait before seeing a physical, after my vitals were taken. This time was very different, from the last time I was at the hospital some 13 years ago. The entire staff including the physician were friendly and seemed to truly care about me and my treatment. For me this was evident by their actions towards me. Constantly checking on me to make sure I was comfortable and doing what they could to easy my pain. The three stars are due to the hospital not having enough exam rooms for privacy. Unfortunately where the overflow of patients were being seen and cared for offered little privacy and it was easy to hear other patient’s private and vital information. This included the patient’s reason for being at the hospital, employment, emergency contact information, birth date, marital status, phone number etc. This is clearly a HIPPA violation. When you’re in pain you want to been relieved of that pain and the information you’re sharing with the medical staff is something you don’t think about yet we hope this information isn’t accessible to other patients or anyone else who doesn’t need to know. Nevertheless Riverside is still my hospital of choice."
