"Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital has services to fit the needs of the patient. They have speech and rehabilitation physical therapy. They do provide an emergency contact list for immediate family or friends/advocate (patients preferences/family request). Also, try to involve families & friends to visit patients for moral support as well as update immediate family of any changes occurring to the patient. I think each facility needs an advanced care plan or verify if one is on file to transfer from other facilities, if it's being transferred to their facility (update, by verifying and making changes If needed, it might be to much for a person they selected) limiting stress for the families. Each case worker and social worker from each facility needs to refer back to each other if needed to make the transitioning run smooth also, to keep track of the date of service for insurance & disability insurance. Every patient needs a copy of their discharge papers, if impaired immediate family member to provide the necessary plan of act in care. Encompass needs improvement in how to address questions properly with direct answers to the questions asked, safety of the patient & equipment servicing (remove equipment if malfunctioning & mark what's wrong), if an incident occurs always allow a person to stay for observation & hygienic care/cleaning of patients. I must add, they need to keep patient information to the privacy and confidentiality to the patient or caregiver / immediate family member. However, they did try to resolve the issues after speaking to the proper person/people. They won't know unless you give feedback."
"Unable to understand why a facility whose sole purpose is rehab refuses to keep a patient for the full 14 days since they are a 14 day facility. The orthopedic doctor stated my mother would require 16 to 18 weeks of inpatient rehab. All I can think is they got paid the max amount from Medicare after 10 days and would not receive further payment beyond that point. Very disappointed. Hope nothing bad happens."
"The nursing supervisors are great. I had a problem with a tech. The way She talked to my dad was very disrespectful and treated him. poorly. I hope she is gone from this faculty because, overall, she will bring it down. Thanks, Tom, for the great job of keeping my dad safe. From techs like TY."
"Unacceptable a veteran deserves respect! Should be 0 stars! My uncle was in this facility recently. The staff did not respond quickly when he pushed the alert button. It seemed as if they didn’t value his request as urgent. Not knowing what he needed this is a dangerous practice. My husband and I had to go look for staff more than once to respond to his needs. I found out today that he was moved from the facility after a caregiver (and I use the term lightly) spoke to him rudely and disrespectfully. He was there for care not to be dehumanized and treated poorly. If that person still works there it is a reflection Of the facility and what is considered acceptable care on their part. Unacceptable a veteran and man of God should be treated with dignity."
