"The ER staff and and the IMCU staff were attentive, professional and friendly while I was hospitalized for a week during January, 2024. In particular, Michael Jagielski oversaw my care in a satisfying manner. Thanks Mike! Overall, I was impressed the operation of the hospital as well as the after care visits at home. John Townsend"
"My elderly, disabled mom is here now. From the time we got here 3 days ago until now, every person we have interacted with has been, friendly, polite, understanding and very caring. They listen to us and her needs, when she is alone at night she said they were awesome which makes me very comfortable being away. I have heard bad things about this hospital but the 4th floor and 2nd floor have gone far and beyond proving the negative comments wrong. Very Satisfied"
"ZERO STARS. Avoid this place at all costs!! I could write a full review on the awful/nonexistent care my father in law has received while at SFMC one the past few weeks, but the isn't enough time in the day. -Walked through the front doors on Sunday - no security, no visitor check in of any sort. Anyone (with a weapon or intent to harm) can walk through the front doors and up to any patient room they want. Not one single person approached us as we wandered around the patient care areas looking for a room. Unacceptable. -First impression walking in the building - aside from no greeter/security, the noddy was a mess with chairs scattered everywhere from a tree lighting from days ago. Major safety hazard. -Trash cans were overflowing throughout the lobbies and floors were filthy. Coffee pots in the open nursing stations(anyone can walk around them, access patient info and anything sitting around) were sitting empty on the burners just waiting to start a fire. The smell of burning coffee was everywhere. -Medical staff - if you could find one they were very nice and cordial, but try to find you assigned nurse/doctor or anyone willing to do ANYTHING was impossible. I know there are nursing shortages, but it should not take 3 hours to get something done as simple as bringing some water. For a hospital that boasts Magnet Recognition for nursing I expected way better care. Father in law was left laying in his bed for hours without acknowledgment, desperately needed to use the bathroom and nobody came for over two hours (then he had to be cleaned up, rashes from not being clean), urine bags/containers left overflowing(this is a result of almost a days wort of neglect), meals left on a tray at the opposite side of the room when they know he is not capable of getting out of bed to retrieve it. Straight up neglect. Unacceptable. -ZERO effort to help him get better via sitting up in bed, getting out of bed, physical therapy that was promised that never happened. Basically sit there and rot til we discharge you, not we want to all that we can to get you ready to go home. Shameful. SFMC was a model hospital over a decade ago, known for excellent care. Now it is one of the worst hospitals I have ever seen/experienced. Avoid at all costs!!"
"I wish I could give them 0 star. I went in today for an outpatient procedure. I checked in at 9 am but didn’t see the doctor until 1 pm. The surgery prep room was so tiny that the nurse could barely fit in the room. It felt like a jail cell. I have anxiety and being stuck to a bed in a tiny room surrounded by walls for hours was very triggering. Plus, they were renovating the building and the noise was so loud I could barely hear nurses talking let alone resting. Overall, very poor, stressful experience. I would never go back to this hospital and I suggest you wouldn’t either if you have a choice"
"Beautiful hospital. One of the nicest I have ever seen. That’s where the service ended. I was there for OP procedure. Nurse comes back calls the patient and when asked if family can come back. “No” no introduction, no explanation, no time frame or next steps Just … do you have the paper with the code? 3 hours later I get a call from the nurse to bring the car around. Discharge instructions are 24 hours clear liquids and follow up in 4-6 months. She can’t tell me what grade he is at or if he has to have this again. Only that they fixed 3 spots. $1200 up front on day of procedure plus whatever the insurance pays. The procedure itself was less than 30 minutes and the doctor couldn’t make a 2 minute phone call to update me. Cafeteria was posted as open until 1030, they were closed at 1005. Valet parking too busy to assist. There was a long way to the parking lot and no shuttle assistance. The bathrooms, waiting rooms and hospital appeared clean. Grounds beautiful. Terrible customer service."
