Electric Nomad Dance Studio is a fusion bellydance studio located at 1800 Decatur Street in Richmond, Virginia. As a gym, health, and school institution, we are dedicated to exploring bellydance (Raqs Sharqi) in all its forms and evolutions. Our classes empower students to connect with their bodies and the larger community while embracing the art of bellydance.
Founded in 2010 by Twila, Electric Nomad Dance Studio has created an inclusive space for dancers to learn and grow. As a member of Twila's student troupe, Laterna Dance Company, we continue to uphold her mission of promoting diversity and creativity in the world of bellydance. "I took my first class session with Khalima last winter, and I'm so glad that I did. I had been wanting to learn more about traditional bellydancing, and Khalima is so knowledgeable and skilled in this area that even just this one 6 week session really blew me away. Even though I was just starting, Khalima took the time to explain things and yet keep the class moving for the others who were a little more advanced. Thanks to Khalima and this studio, I now find myself appreciating dance more, so much so that if you see some weird blond girl dancing in the grocery store, that's may be me! :D"
