Reviews
"My review will be contrary to the other two I read. I used Stuart's for a repair last season. A friend diagnosed my issue as a "locked engine." I felt the issue was drive related. I brought it to Stuart's and they confirmed the lower unit of the drive failed. They recommended an SEI replacement which was priced much more reasonable than a Merc. version. They installed it for a fair price and got me back on the water. I was very happy with the interaction. I felt compelled to leave this review after reading the negative ones because my experience was drastically different."
"Paid 9k for engine rebuild. Sold boat within 4 months of actual use with 18 hours on engine rebuild. New buyer had no warranty with Stuart Marine and had major engine failure and having rebuilt AGAIN. He is a wonderful guy and didn't sue me but I could not ever recommend this business."
"Well I usually do not write reviews but thought I had to let my fellow boat owners to stay away from Stuart's Marine. His professionalism and attention to detail is awful. He had 3 items to fix on my boat and 2 out of the 3 did not work when I received the boat back. It was obvious Dave and his son did not do a operational test before the boat was given back to me. When asked why it did not work he had a total sarcastic comment. " I think most in Smithfield know how he is". If another Marina tells you it will be 2 weeks before they can fix your boat do yourself a favor and wait. I have my boat back and now waiting on someone else to fix it. Yes he got me for about $300 but hopefully this review will save someone else money. Stay away go to a professional boat repair you will save money in the long run!"
