"I stopped by here because it was on my bucket list after RVA Tour Bus (Tamra) mentioned it on IG. I met Krystle the owner, her son and their dog Milo. They were all very nice and welcoming. I didn’t come in expecting to purchase anything. She asked me what I liked to read and handed me a recommendation. Wouldn’t you know it, she gave me a book that was on my wishlist. Paid full price and I was happy to support a small, local business that is Black woman-owned. I will be telling all my friends about this gem in RVA."

"This was my first trip there the owner was so welcoming. I just happened too be looking for a black owned book store and a black author and The Book Bar was the first to come up in my search. I fell in love with the ambiance upon entering and her cute little puppy really did it for me. I wasn't sure what I was looking for and she did a great job of putting me in the right direction and she gave me some great recommendations. Loved it here, I will definitely be back!"

"My first visit to The Book Bar RVA and I cannot stop raving about it. For years I've admired the vibe and selections offered at well known DC bookstores like Kramers and Busboys and Poets. Now we have a black, female owned bookstore in Richmond featuring black authors, black makers of wines, oils and sweet treats. The space is so welcoming. I enjoyed spoken word, wine tasting, and some amazing banana pudding cookies. I highly recommend. I can't wait to return."
