"My husband was a resident here for several months before passing away at Lewis-Gale Hospital in December 2022. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a wonderful group of employees who definitely make your veteran's health and care their top priority. My husband received wonderful friendly care from top notch nurses, nurses aids and therapists. The resident rooms are kept spotless each and everyday and the food is always hot and delicious. Our family will never forget the excellent care he received from everyone and would highly recommend this facility to any family that wants their loved one to have the respect and care that VVCC gives to each and everyone of their residents."

"I truly want to thank Dreama Smith in the pharmacy, who I feel went above and beyond to help my father with his medications. Also, my father was in two other facilities before coming to the VVCC and had terrible experiences, so we are so thankful for the care and the staff that have helped him at VVCC. My father tells me every time I visit him how helpful everyone is and how good the food is compared to the two other places that he was in before. And I have to say the building and grounds are well maintained and beautiful. My father loved to watch his birds at his own home and he was happy to see that the atrium has a large bird cage with little finches that he watches daily. I have only had one issue with VVCC and that was not related to his food or care. That's why I gave it a four star and not a five star."

"I love this facility. Everyone is very nice. Whenever I call to check on my dad someone always answers and gives me an update. My dad has made some friends and seems to be adjusting well. Veda is a great nurse and he seems to really like her. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. And thanks to Sandra Collins for always keeping me updated and answering my questions."

"Staff very mute with family regarding plan of care and treatment. Appears not to be a team effort. One small framed female has entered room once during my several visits. Patients were very ill kept and had foul smell. Patients hair unwashed and he had no comb at bedside. Head full of dandruff. I am hoping to get relative moved soon to avoid them doing further harm."
