"We have had repeated issues with Amerigas. This year we scheduled a refill of our propane tank and the delivery guy came, said our tank was full, and left before my husband could go out to meet him. The tank was not full, but we were able to still use our fireplace. We tried to reschedule a new service. We were told that the delivery would occur between 20-26 Dec. The delivery came on 30 DEC with no call, email, text, or update for the new date. As the tank was now empty the delivery person left it disconnected. The calls we have tried to make to Amerigas go into an automatic loop where we can’t talk to a human and are unable to resolve our issues. We finally were able to speak with a human who said he was unable to help us but would have someone call us back. We are still waiting for that call. And we now have a full propane tank we are unable to use during the coldest part of the year. We had terrible issues with Amerigas about 2 years ago. Inhind sight, we should never have them a second chance. It is a terribly run organization and not only do I not recommend this company, I actively warn everyone who will listen to avoid them."
"If I could give zero stars, I would. Amerigas was "scheduled" to deliver gas to my 91 year old grandmother in November. It is now nearly Christmas, her gas tank is empty and her house is filled with nauseous and toxic gas fumes. I've been on the phone with an overseas call center since 9:00 am and it is now nearly 2:00 pm. I keep being placed on hold while the representative does research and checks her account but not once has anyone said they would come out today to deliver any gas. I have now been transferred four different times and spoken to four different people, and repeated the same story four different times becuase each time I am told there are no notes. She is unable to take her medications because she needs to take some of them with food. She can't cook the food to take her medication with out gas in the tank to cook. All I keep getting is a script and no solution or concern for her health. Of course we will buy her food, however where is the compassion and accountability. Needless to say we will be canceling service and switching companies."
"I am very dissapointed with my experience with Amerigas. They showed up to our office without telling us, filled our tank up and charged us $5.65 a gallon when propane is $3.33 in Northern VA. after many calls they negotiated and lowered their bill by 10 cents a gallon. Do yourself a favor and call any other gas company, but them."
"Unload 0400 to 1200. Easy in and out for dry van, have tandems pulled up as far as you can, tight but easy if you use your space wisely. Quick unload."
"UPDATE: cancelled Amerigas, tried to get them to sell me the 1000 gallon tank we had in ground, they denied the request saying they needed the tank. We scheduled to have the tank picked up after having it excavated. Of course, the date we scheduled for pickup came and went, and the tank still sits in our yard. Just got off the phone with overseas customer service again - they can find no record of the scheduled pickup of their tank. They will no longer transfer you to the customer resolution department here in the US that actually helped in the past - you are stuck with the overseas office. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! Past Review: Years back Amerigas was a decent company. When you had an issue you could call the local office and the ladies took care of things efficiently. Now all calls go overseas. I missed 3 days of work waiting for an emergency delivery, that I was told 3 days in a row would be delivered the same day. Eventually when I threatened to cancel my service I was transferred to a customer resolution person in Baltimore, MD. She let us know we were not even on the emergency schedule, though the overseas people told us three days in a row we were on the emergency schedule and would receive a delivery within 24 hours. She (Baltimore resolution) was able get a delivery to us, but of the several hundred gallons we prepaid, they only delivered just over a hundred gallons. We've been trying for two days to get back on a delivery schedule, and given dates 2 weeks out. I've asked to go back to the resolution department, and we called 7 (SEVEN) times today. 2 "customer service" reps hung up on us. 1 stated he'd get in trouble if he transferred us to the resolution department. 3 said they were transferring us, and after about 30 minutes we were directed to take customer service satisfaction survey. The last person scheduled us for a delivery two weeks out, and again, said they'd transfer us to the customer resolution department but it didn't happen. We advised we want to either buy the tank in the ground so we can have another company deliver propane to us - or have it removed an buy a tank from another company. A week ago we were told this was an option, and that it needed to go to some corporate office to determine if they could sell the tank to us and at what cost. Today we were told that's not possible. Amerigas believes they have us cornered. So - we have set up with a competitor to bury another tank next to the Amerigas tank, and we'll pursue Amerigas legally to have their tank removed, and the 600 gallons of propane we pre-paid refunded. Avoid Amerigas at all costs - literally."
