"Great place for any large outdoor celebration or event. Clean well manicured spaces and ample seating in pavilions provide shade and a great cooking space. Staff is accommodating and makes this one of the best places to share a special day. Fishing, boating and paintballing are also available at extremely reasonable rates."
"Lots and lots of birds including Great Blue Heron, Egret, Cormorants and Seagulls. Get there early in the morning to catch great photos of the Heron and Egret. Unfortunately, the fishing pier and boat docks are closed and boarded up. They are in bad shape. The water level is historically low and so the boat ramp has a bad drop off. Sign says use at your own risk. There is also quite a bit of trash accumulated throughout the reservoir, along the edges and tributaries and the wooded areas. Park areas along the water with the cypress trees are very scenic."
"This was a wonderful park with lots of wildlife. There was a person fishing and wild ducks. The park has swings and three different playgrounds. The where people have a party when I went. The had a portable toilet in addition to having a restroom with running water. It is always nice when the restroom has running water. The park is big and had lots of parking. I will probably go back someday. It was a nice park."
"We camped here for over a week when we PCS’d into Langley and it was phenomenal. We came in with a 27 ft RV, a 12 ft cargo trailer, a F350 and a small SUV. They have a place to park the extra cargo trailer off our camp site and the rest all fit into one site. They have a park, lake access, volleyball court, paint ball, walking trails, it’s so nice!"
"I have been going to Bethel Park since the mid-1970s. Back then, the Army maintained the facility. Later, as Fort Monroe closed down, the facility was turned over to the Air Force. The facilities are maintained and clean. Public rest rooms are porta-johns and they are maintained. Fishing piers are open year round but boat rental is only available during the warmer seasons (I don't know the dates...). You only need the appropriate state fishing licenses. They have a playground for the kids and pavilions with BBQ and picnic table. Normally rental when boat rentals are available, otherwise, it's first-come..."
