"Great atmosphere. Genuine neighborhood bar/restaurant. Food is good. I had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese which came with a cup of Kimchi Tomato Soup. Quite tasty. The other person ordered a double Governor Burger. There's a lot of beef on the double! Next time we'd order it as a single. Also tasty with an interesting maple 1000 Island sauce and dill pickles. Also ordered a side of Bowling Alley fries which were basic crinkle cut fries served hot and fresh out of the fryer. I also tried their latest drink special...a bourbon-apple slushie which was sweet but not too sweet. Nice bourbon, apple, cinnamon flavor. A big plus about dining in downtown old Milford: free parking on the streets...not a parking meter or pay lot anywhere."

"The Governor is a must-visit restaurant in historic downtown Milford. Every time I go, I am impressed. I don't believe there's a single bad item on the menu. I've had several different sandwiches, most recently the Big Ohio. Every time, they've come out hot, fresh, and big. The quality of the food and the size of the portions, at this price point, is extremely hard to beat. Besides the food, the service is always excellent, and the restaurant itself has a clean but cozy feel. I highly recommend The Governor to anyone, and if I was visiting Milford and could only choose a handful of restaurants, The Governor would easily make the top of the list."

"We are from out of town and wanted to find somewhere to eat that was local (not a chain). Our daughter suggested The Governor. Her suggestion was spot on. First of all it’s located in quaint downtown Milford. The downtown area is a throwback to Mayberry. A lot of nice storefronts and alive with people. The Governor has a relaxed atmosphere, with great food and service. Although we went on a busy Sunday afternoon, we were seated right away. I ordered the Lobster Roll. It was loaded with lobster. Although I could do with a little less bread. Still, it was delicious. Overall, the dining experience at The Governor was excellent. It’s a little pricey, but given the ambience, food and service, it’s worth it."

"Wife and I stopped here for breakfast on a Monday morning right when they opened. The Governor has appeared in TV Shows, Popular articles/Sites, Videos, etc. Did it live up to the hype? Absolutely! This place didn't slam you with a wall full of mentions, awards, Guy Fieri hype, etc. I appreciate that they didn't plaster all of that on the walls, and appeared to just stick to what they do best and what has gotten them here. Such a vibrant but laid back vibe, touching on coastal vibes with the garage door windows, but modern/sleek seating. Very cool! Staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was so delicious and fresh, and very reasonably priced. Portions were incredible as well. We both had the OG Egg Sandwich, mine with Bacon, and my wife got the Sausage (which almost looked like a hamburger). The egg sandwich was absolutely delicious, and hash browns equally so. Do yourself a favor, and go check out The Governor right away! It truly lives up to the hype and doesn't attempt to coast on that hype, they really do care about service and the quality of food they create!"
