Ivy Creek Park is a beautiful nature park located in Lynchburg, Virginia. Situated within the Lynchpin Industrial Park, the park offers a serene oasis with the six-acre Clemmons Lake as its centerpiece. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as canoeing, fishing, picnicking, and hiking on the multi-use trails. The park also features picnic and play areas, as well as an auxiliary site for the naturalists of the Nature Zone. Originally dedicated in 2011, Ivy Creek Park was acquired from the Lynchburg Economic Development Authority, who had obtained it from the Pugh family. Dr. William Thomas Pugh, a local surgeon and sportsman, had acquired the property as a family getaway. The park offers PFD rentals for those over 30 lbs and provides fishing opportunities with stocked trout and catfish from the Montebello Fish Hatchery.
Visitors must rent canoes and kayaks from Parks and Rec, as outside vessels are not allowed. The park features ADA compliant trails, picnic areas, and a play area for families to enjoy. Fishing at Clemmons Lake is regulated, with catch and keep limits for trout and catfish. Responsible fishing practices are encouraged, with stocked fish available even in the winter months. Ivy Creek Park is a perfect destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

"Excellent loop trail around Clemmons Lake. Perfect for walking your dog. Approximately half shaded areas through the woods, half sunny open areas. Not too much goose poop in the wooded area of the trail only in the open area- which is perfect for us with a puppy. It has a few extra trails other than the main loop around the lake."

"Home of Clemmons Lake - you can go fishing (catfish and trout I believe the sign said) anytime (from 7a - dusk everyday. Thems the park hours) and there is Kayak and Canoe rentals (seems like maybe only on the weekends). The trails and the lake itself are absolutely wonderful. You would never know you were still in city limits! I’ve been going for morning walks there and absolutely adore it!"
