"Amazing first-tattoo experience for my son and me at Two Pillars - 100/100 stars if possible. Raff gave great advice, did perfect artwork and made the whole experience feel positive, safe and memorable. I didn’t meet the shop assistant Kat but she was super nice and helpful on the phone and with emails. I briefly met the owner Charles - also very friendly and welcoming. The shop itself has an awesome and unique but very comfortable vibe. I initially went to two other shops a bit closer to home (in Gloucester and West Point) but felt so uncomfortable with their condescending and dismissive attitudes that I assumed it might be true everywhere and almost gave up altogether. I read an online article about how Richmond is “the place” for tattoos and expanded my search. In addition to great reviews, what initially brought me to Two Pillars was a line on their website promising “We’re not A-Holes,” which I kind of needed after those other shop experiences. The appointment process was easy and the prices seemed very reasonable. My only regret is that I only ever planned to have one tattoo so cannot be a regular customer, but I could not possibly recommend Two Pillars more!"
