"Very angry man , he was very hateful to me upon trying to make payments on many occasions. In general a horrible encounter with the entire office . If you are looking for a professional environment I don’t suggest at all . Certain people have an attitude that they just want to get your money and don’t care about the relationship with a consumer and that’s all I felt with this office . He screamed at me telling me : you will not speak with anyone else you will only talk to me then proceeded to hang up on me twice while I was talkin because II asked him if there was anyone else I can speak to( because he is hard of hearing and a little off with comprehension making the phone call so uncomfortable and inconvenient). I Will not go through this office for anything . Good Luck hopefully you get treated better ."

"Mr. Rixey was my attorney for a military divorce as well as a criminal charge he provided evidence was a lie. I highly recommend this modern day Matlock. He listened to what I wanted done, but cared enough to be upfront and honest about what he believed would be best. He was not just a yes man to get money. He communicated through a phone call or email promptly, and was available through my emergencies. He worked with me on payment and gave grace in good faith. "Absolutely the worst legal representation you’ll find in Virginia Beach. Barbour Rixey lacks communication, and professionalism. He was retained by my soon to be ex husband and made a fool of himself and his own client. I was court ordered to deliver items to Mr Rixey’s office, that belong to my spouse. I have emails trying to coordinate an appropriate day and time to do this, and was never responded to. So I had been advised by my lawyer today to immediately take these items and drop them off so I wouldn’t be in contempt of that order. So I did just that. Mind you I’m 5’5, 130lbs and I had to load and unload all of this because Mr.Rixey didn’t care to help make arrangements for the belongings to begin with. So, Mr.Rixey’s response to me, and I quote, 'Yes I am aware you left them outside my door without giving me the courtesy of a call that you were coming or assisting my paralegal on getting the items into my office. You are so crude and rude. No wonder your husband left you.’ I wish I could say this upset me but it just helps my case. The lack of self control and lack of professionalism are indeed beneficial to me and my ex. This is why Mr.Rixey won’t be retained by my ex spouse for this matter again. As happy as I was about the poor legal representation Mr.Rixey provides, I’d rather my ex husband find representation that isn’t going to screw him blindly during our divorce. Things can be fair and done civilly, just not with the representation of Barbour Rixey."
