"We stayed here for 1 night on January 1, 2024. The hotel is clean and quiet with friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious. We really enjoyed the free refreshments that are offered day and night at this hotel including juices, hot chocolate, & French vanilla hot chocolate. There were many items to choose from for breakfast. We are really glad we chose to stop here for a quick overnight stay while traveling through Virginia."
"I chose Best Western Plus at Hunt Ridge because of the excellent reviews and great location, but most importantly, because they are pet friendly and have EV charging. I was disappointed upon late arrival finding three of the four tesla charging spots taken by gas vehicles. Two spots for generic chargers were in use. These charging spots are in a prime location by a side door and marked with one small sign. The hotel was only at about twenty five percent capacity, and many standard spots were available within feet. The attentive, friendly night clerk felt bad, but there was obviously nothing she could do. The day clark seemed like she couldn't care less. Some hotels will ask staff to park in those spots to ensure availability for late arriving customers. Best Western would do well to appropriately mark and reserve the EV parking spots with better signage or curb painting. EV drivers are an ever-growing customer base and choose their hotels carefully. Any traveler would be sorely disappointed to drive miles out of their way only to find the chargers inaccessible. Other than that the hotel is basic, but very nice. The entire hotel looked clean, including all the carpets. Rooms were a little dated but clean with good linens. My room had plenty of electrical outlets but no USB ports. The room had K cup coffeemaker, microwave, and mini fridge with no freezer. A big television, although although the volume did not work on my remote. Two very nice employees staffed the breakfast area. Offerings included cereal, milk, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, juices, coffee, et cetera. The entry area had 24 hour access to the ice machine, a couple of vending machines, complimentary juice, and cappuccino dispenser. However, the hot chocolate was empty when I tried it. I would like to stay here again, but one more strike with the EV charger availability. And I will need to look elsewhere."
"Absolutely top notch. Room was great, I got upgraded to a suite because they were out of two queens like I asked for. They could have downgraded me and honestly wouldn't have even noticed, but I super appreciated the upgrade. Facilities were extremely nice; on of the nicest Best Western branded hotels I've been in. Rooms were clean, common areas kept clean, not a lot of noise even with a dog in the room next to mine. Great location, lots of light out front and felt safe as a solo female traveler. My ONLY note is that the breakfast is ridiculously hard to find...it's literally across the entire hotel from the front lobby. They really need to figured something better out there, but it's minor complaint, really."
"Overall staff is very friendly. However, we had two issues: 1. There was a half gallon of old milk left in the small refrigerator in our room. In my view, that leaves in question the cleaning process of the room 2. We look for hotels with a pool to get some energy out of our kids before starting the trip again. The pool door was locked when we wanted to use it. They ended up figuring out how to open it but by then it was time to check out…"
"Right off the highway and easy to get in and out of, this was a decent find for pet-friendly hotels. We travel with my cat several times a year, and we usually stop at a random hotel, so it's hit or miss every time. This time we did pretty well with this location. Price was good, under $150 for a room last minute, with no pet fee. The room was clean, albeit dated. There was an odd smell of what was probably cleaning supplies, but not terrible. We got checked in quickly, which was great. There's a pool and a small workout room, but no store. The soda / water / snack machine only does cash, but there's no ATM. So amenities are a little limited. Breakfast in the morning was standard fair for travel motel, but not bad. The coffee, however, was made in a vending machine and honestly one of the few travel coffees I've actually turned down (and I can drink most gas station coffee without a problem). All in all, I would stay here again for the price and the quality of the room itself... But don't expect to be wowed"
