Reviews
"I want to be fair with this review, but I've been really disappointed with the overall philosophy of service lately. I'll remove this review if and when this philosophy changes. I get it. Safeside is the only game in town, and the facilities truly are immaculate and functional. But as an annual member who shoots weekly, I've noticed some...less than optimal practices. 1) Range availability is declining. When I signed up 2 years ago, the rifle bays were open, well, at least more than they are now. I'm supposed to go hunting this weekend, and was just informed that the rifle bays are now closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (and of course Thursday for this week, since it's thanksgiving). So now I don't get to zero the rifle I was going to hunt with this weekend. Not super cool. 2) The "annual waver" fee...thing...is a pretty big blunder. You guys know it. I know it. If you're hurting for cash, there's better ways than hidden fees to get it. I brought a guest a few days ago--again, annual member going on 2 years now, and besides that, I've spent thousands with y'all--and I was downright embarrassed when he was put through that rigamarole and forced to pay the fee. Yes, I was vaguely aware of it, but guys, it's not my job to keep up with every little change in your policies. My life is complicated enough. 3) Forcing people to create an account just to sign the waver is another strike in my book. You had a tablet before that people could sign the waver on. Bring that back. I don't know if this is just a tactic to get people's info for marketing purposes--I want to give Mitchell the benefit of the doubt--but it sure looks like that, and again, it's embarrassing when I bring guests. I like Safeside and I genuinely want it to succeed. I know times are tough right now and corners must be cut. But there's better ways to do it that don't shaft your long-time members and loyal customers."
"AWESOME place to go have fun. I used their rifle range and it was great. Great RSO too. I fell in love with the axe throwing. Also, great store to supply all your shooting needs. Thanks for such a cool staff."
"Dropped of a Stripped Ar15 lower to get Ceracoated, Took less than a week to get it back and the finish looked great except it was the wrong color, I had requested Tungsten but it looks like I got Titanium. Update: They stood by their work and offered to refinish the lower at no extra cost"
"The parking lot is big and the parking spaces aren't tight. The building was spacious. I feel they've done a good job at keeping their areas (axe throwing, merchandise, and shooting range) separate but also together. I appreciate how clean the bathroom was. The shooting range staff was polite, efficient, and answered my questions succinctly. I walked around their merch area and was content with their wide range of guns, ammo, and accessories. The staff wasn't "in-your-face" and was willing to suggest other shops if they didn't have something in stock. Overall, my experience was pleasant, and I plan to return for more shooting practice later on."
"The best range I’ve ever experienced to date. As I walked in the door I was greeted and pointed in the right direction to go to the pistol range. You take a quick little safety class by watching a video to make sure you know the safety rules. There is both pistol and a 101 yard rifle range! Prices are great. If you don’t own any guns, no worries they have a huge selection of guns to rent. Looking to buy a gun they have any thing you could think of and a great staff that is educated on the guns."
