"I don't even know where to start with the special place this school holds in our heart. We had our son at two different preschools prior to finding a home and a family at Montessori Children's House. From the instant we walked in everyone was so welcoming and made my son feel at home. The children showed him around and he immediately took off to become accustomed to the amazing learning environment offered. I love the school because they really focus on the individual child and their needs which truly caters the learning experience. Each child gets a well rounded education while being encouraged to explore the things that spark the most interest for them at the time this making learning fun and incredibly productive. When we started at MCH I felt like the teachers saw my son for who he was instead of just as another 4-year old and they really embraced all the quirks that made him special and for that I am forever grateful. It was because of MCH that he grew confident in his learning abilities and now is reading and writing well above grade level. Because of the style of school MCH becomes a family and I can't thank them enough for the support we got while there, not just the staff, but other parents as well. It's an amazing place for children to begin their education in a positive light and set my son up for a very bright educational future. I highly recommend looking into them for early educational needs! I just wish we had stayed in the area long enough to have my other two attend as well."
"Love this school and the impact it has made on my two children! These teachers nurture each child's curious nature and guide them as they lay the foundation of the crucial early childhood education years. We have experienced pre-school and kindergarten at MCH and we feel it was the greatest decision we have ever made. The K curriculum is dynamic and challenging and the children have the freedom to explore topics of interest while surpassing state standards. The pre-school's focus is whole child and aligns with the proven Montessori method. It will be bitter sweet when we move on after next year. MCH and its teachers will always be special to us, the friendships and the academic advancements. I enthusiastically recommend this school! I am an educator in a Va Beach elementary school and have a Masters in the Art of Teaching."
"I can't say enough good things about Montessori Children's House! My daughter has attended Pre-K there since she was 3 years old. She is now almost 5 (and will be attending Kindergarten with them in the fall) and she has learned so much in the 2 years she's been there! Her reading and math skills are well above the standard expectation for her age. The self-reliance, independence, and personal responsibility that the Montessori way of teaching has instilled in her has been so beneficial to her self-esteem and confidence. And all the while she's having FUN and making friends :) The teachers are all amazing, they truly care about each and every child, they have become an extension of our family. I knew this was the right fit for our family the moment I walked into the classroom during the tour of the school, I noticed the kids were happily focused on their lessons, the teachers were cheerful and helpful. In short, Montessori Children's House is wonderful and I'm so happy to have a school like this for my daughter."
"My son has attended Montessori Children's House for over a year and he loves going everyday! The same teacher's have been there all year. They are all great. All the kids are very well behaved which reflects positively on the teachers. Most importantly we have seen tremendous growth in our son both educationally and socially. He is now 3 and half years old and is above average in many ways. Even on a preschool level the child has different teachers that specialize in their own area (language, math, music, art) and each teacher works closely with each child. Montessori Childrens House also brings in outside activities such as Yoga and Taekwondo for the children. It is truly a special school. If you are looking for a place for your child to learn and grow you must at least check out Montessori Children's House."
