Virginia Montessori Teacher Education Center

Virginia Montessori Teacher Education Center is located at 2013 Scenic Parkway in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. As a primary school institution, we are dedicated to upholding the principles and philosophy of Maria Montessori. Our Early Childhood Teacher Training program, starting in June 2024, focuses on the process of exploration, observation, and growth in Montessori education.

At VMTEC, students have the opportunity to study the young child and implement proven methodology through two credentialing programs designed to prepare them for the classroom. Our expert instructors, who are experienced Montessorians, guide students in understanding the needs of young children. With a blended program of distance learning and face-to-face instruction, students can complete their Montessori training efficiently.

Furthermore, VMTEC students and graduates have the option to enroll in a Master's Degree program with Sarasota University. Through our partnership, current students and alumni can earn credit for coursework in our Early Childhood program towards a Master’s degree in Montessori Education or Montessori Leadership.
