"It’s hard to like these guys. They install devices that make you do all the work, and then they act like you’re an idiot when they don’t work as expected. What happened to having a job and being good at it? Apparently UPS thinks I’m the shipper now… and they’ll even charge me for the privilege of using their printer to print out a label. Horrible experience."
"I went there to ship something and they were going to charge me $75 for a box. I then went a block away, to the Fed Ex store on 21st and K, and they charged me $4.95 for the same box. When I went back to the UPS Store to ask why the $70 price price difference, they said they use better boxes."
"They overcharged me a lot for shipping a package to Canada. The staff only told me about two options for shipping: $200 for one day and $190 for two days. When I went back home and checked online I found out there is standard shipping option but they didn't tell me. Also, they charged me 50 dollars more comparing with the price on the official website. I would never use UPS again."
"It is not a compliment to say that this store has a D.C. Post Office/DMV vibe. Staff are not terribly helpful, are rather unwelcoming, and seem flatly resentful of customers. One staff member even behaves like a club bouncer, physically blocking Amazon returns customers from advancing beyond the DIY table in the middle of the store. Before the Pandemic, this store was run by a family who were nice and helpful, but the current operators seem determined to get rid of customers. Before long, I suspect they'll succeed in running the place into the ground."
"I will never use UPS to ship a package again. I was recommended UPS by my hotel to send and receive packages, and so my father shipped work pants from Arizona to this location because I recently moved here and started a job in D.C. I was later informed by an employee at this location that they will not hold onto my package as these services are only offered by individual store owners, and this store does not offer to hold onto packages for their customers. She asked for my contact info and told me the manager would call me to see if any special arrangements could be made, but I never received a phone call. I called UPS customer service to see if anything could be done, and they offered to hold onto my package at their shipping facility for up to 5 business days, but upon receipt, my package was immediately returned back to the UPS store in Arizona. After all the trouble this one package has caused, I have no guarantee it will be returned back to my father or whether he will receive a refund as UPS customer service told me they are unable contact individual UPS stores. The fact UPS customer service is not allowed to contact store locations to resolve customer matters and having each store owner offer their own separate parcel services makes this the worst franchise model for a postal service business. *UPDATE* I emailed the store owner like they asked, but I have not heard back from them since."
