"I have attempted to go to this barber shop multiple times, but the barber here has never managed to show up at the stated opening time. I've waited for nearly an hour past the listed opening time on some occasions, and they never showed up! Don't waste your time here - spend the extra few minutes to drive in to C'ville and go to a barber who respects their customers enough to be there when they say they will!"

"Unlike the name, the shop isn’t modern. I suspect it’s what barbershops were like fifty years ago. They give great military-like cuts and cuts for older men, but I don’t recommend for guys in general. I tried to communicate the cut I wanted but we had a disconnect. I said ‘all good’ before we went to far and I ended up with a buzz cut."

"One month ago I would’ve given this place five stars. Lisa, the owner was fantastic when I brought my teenage son in for a haircut one afternoon. She gave him a great cut, great service and was professional enough. Unfortunately, on Monday, September 27 I walked in around 1:30pm with my other son for a haircut. There was a different woman working and I will not list her name here to protect her privacy. She was in the middle of a cup with a gentleman and I was going to just drop my son off for him to wait until she was finished. I kindly asked her If she would mind putting on a mask when it was his turn to get his haircut. She was unmasked at the time which was not an issue for me or our family because my son was able to maintain distance while waiting. When I asked her about masking during his cut, she gave me a very nasty look and rudely said “ If you want someone that will wear a mask you need to come back at four when Lisa gets here”. Can you even imagine saying that in your place of work to a customer? Then, I simply said “Well, I guess if you are vaccinated, it would be OK since he’s wearing a mask. I cannot come back at 4 PM.” At that point she lost all of her self composure and screamed at me “I don’t like all of these personal questions. It’s none of your business. If you want to haircut come back at 4 PM when Lisa is here!” I am not typically one to write bad reviews about businesses, especially locally owned family businesses. This was just too blatant to disregard. My family and I will choose to spend our dollars elsewhere and will share with our friends in the area about the experience. We will not support a business that conveys this message of hostility and anger."
