Reviews of SW Automotive
"If you're looking for an honest and technically superior mechanic you can trust, look no further. Scott is the best! He'll only recommend what you really need to get done and his pricing is always fair."
"Bottom Line Up Front- Scott held my car for over 3 months and drove it for 1000s of miles. He stated he had personal problems and other issues and said there would be a delay. I assumed it was going to be parked and then test driven when he could get to it, and since I had another car and I trusted Scott, I left it with him. When I finally got it back there were 1000s of miles driven on it without my authorization. I also got it back with faulty brakes installed. I took it back to have the brakes repaired and over 4 days he drove it again for over 200 miles, which was documented. It actually takes another try to get the brake issue resolved because he keeps getting faulty brakes to put on my car. I got the car for the third time and brakes are seemingly fixed but now they are getting back to how they were before. I also have the same vibrations I had which is why I initially took it in there. So, this frustration that has built up has led me to write this review. To give a brief timeline of events, I took my car there on March 2 to switch out with my other car. I took it there to see if vibrations can be replicated when driving. The car had about 78,000 miles on it. March 20 I got a text “I finally got the noise from the front end over the bumps to happen, still figuring it out. The vibration turning from stop is the axles. I’m sure it’s the passenger side axle. Brakes haven’t acted up yet.” March 1st I am told “Sorry for the late text I'm leaving work, can I drive your car tonight to see if any head way is made with the noise. I say sure, simply assuming this will be a test drive. April 10 I ask if there was a new status on the car. I was told he would call me that day. Scott takes incredibly long to perform any repair in my experience, but I considered him trustworthy. Simply and regrettably, I assumed it was just parked. I didn’t get any call back until May 3. He stated that he was having very severe personal issues. Being a nice guy, I tell him things can happen and take care of his issues. I should’ve just gotten my car at this point, but against my better judgment I didn’t. On May 16th I was told it should be done by the end of the week. I never heard anything back until June 6th when I reached out to state what the issue is. I am told pretty much that he is going to replace the brakes and other items that were never discussed in the first place all for free and I can get the car the 12th. I finally get my car back and notice my mileage is now all the way up to 82,969 miles and the car rumbles when braking. I couldn’t believe it and asked about this and was told his car was messed up and that is why he was driving it. He even asked for the odometer reading for a receipt I didn’t get until 2 weeks later and he sends it back WRONG, with 82,784 miles on the receipt! I needed my car fixed so I took it back on the June 16. I clocked my miles at 83,073 that Friday and was told that new brakes will be there that upcoming Tue. When I get the car back on Tue, the odometer reads 83,348 and my brakes are still messed up. I confront him again on everything and he basically implies that I never tried to get it earlier so it isn’t a big deal, his car was messed up, and that he didn't want to go back and forth on it. I ask him to fix my brakes for free and he does. At least I thought they were fixed for a while. My brakes are getting worse and the original vibrations are still present. Its almost like nothing has been done at all. I didn’t document the first time when 1000s of miles were racked up but I did record the second time and I could have potentially gone to small claims court over this but I like Scott. I do not know why he kept it so long and drove it that much, but its probably because he knew I had another car and his car was messed up so he used mine to get himself to and from all these emergencies he stated he had for over 3 months. I have zero trust or confidence now in Scott. I welcome any kind of refutation of my claims. Be cognizant if referred here. EDIT: 8/24 Still waiting on actual rebuttal or explanation."
"Scott, the owner lives not far from me, and he volunteer to stop by my house and pick up the vehicle and he left his vehicle. The vehicle was serviced, and he provided a mileage to check the fluids. This was a great experience. I definingly use SW automotive again. I would again use his service and I have recommended the service to friends."
"Excellent service, Scott is very honest and has always done a great job with our cars. We have 3 and this is the only place we will take them to be fixed. The location is easy to access, and everyone is very friendly. I have referred several families to SW Automotive and they have all thanked me for the great find."
"We have brought our car to SW Automotive several times and will never go any place else! The owner is honest, his prices are fair, his work is stellar, and turn around time is amazing! It’s so hard to trust repair shops these days, but no longer, SW Automotive is our go to for all of our cars and should be yours too!!"
