Black Eyed Peas

"I just moved to Virginia Beach from Chicago. It’s definitely a beautiful change from the weather I’m used to. However, the customer service is sub par! I’ve been to several places where it takes about 10 minutes before someone even greets you. The same is true for Black Eyed Peas. It took at least 10 minutes before someone came to greet us and take our order. The food was amazing but the customer service was awful. The place wasn’t even packed out for there to be a delay. First, there was a live band playing making it hard to hear. Secondly, the server was very disengaged. She didn’t check in to see how our food was. Some condiments we requested were received nearly after we had eaten half our meal. She didn’t get drink refills until we were completely done. There was no pre bussing of the tables to allow for extra room. It was just clear they don’t have proper training when it comes to providing great customer service. For the price I paid I would have liked to see more effort in providing an excellent dining experience"

"This place is perfect for a casual night out! Lots of space, comfy seating, clean restroom, good music, a bar, and excellent service. I gave a 4 star only because the servings were a little small for my liking, but i would have loved a 4.5. Now to the food it was PRERFECTION. It wasn't over seasoned it was just right for me. They have lots of condiments if you need extra, even vinegar. Let's talk about the cornbread, 1 word SUPERIOR, it is the lightest fluffiest sweet cornbread I have ever had, and it's topped with a honey butter drizzle They called all the ancestors to put their toes in that piece of heaven! We didn't order drinks because it was almost closing time. Even with 15 mins to closing, the owner stepped in and served us. She was very nice and a breath of fresh air to talk to. I will definitely be back to try the oxtail and partake in the Saturday night events."

"The food is seasoned well. Some say the catfish is a little bit salty for their liking. I tried the jumbo shrimp, and it was delicious. Love the potato salad as well. It's fresh. The corn bread is free!"

"We went here for Mothers Day, it was our first time. There was a man playing live jazz and some good songs too. The food came out hot. The cornbread was good and sweet. The collard greens were very good along with the Mac N Cheese. My husband enjoyed his fried turkey chops. I got the fried chicken, and it was season nicely. My nephew even had ribs, but they don't give you many, though. The sweet tea is also good here."
