"I have been a long time customer, the service is fast, the price is fair and the staff is knowledgeable. I highly recommend them for your next ac need. I've referred them to friends and they were more than fair."
"Do not use BAJA Heating and Cooling if you like your house temperature above 72 in the summer and you enjoy burning money like Pablo Escobar in your fireplace. Where to start - We returned home from a lengthy hospital stay to learn our upstairs nine (9) year old AC unit wasn't cooling. I immediately activated the Greater Red Mill Area (GRMA) Mafia in search of a reputable business. The earliest any of them could get to me was two (2) to three (3) days. I knew this wasn't going to go over well with my Best Girl Betty so I turned to Gunny Google and took note that BAJA was a family business from Pungo. I left them a message through their web page contact form as it was well after business hours. This was my first mistake. No later than 0700 the following morning I was texted by a young lady (Katie) inquiring about my HVAC needs. I gave her a ring and explained the issue. Her first words after this were "I'm so sorry to hear this". Her second words were "I wish you would have called our 24 hour service number last night, we would have brought you a portable unit". I'm thinking to myself: This has to be a joke, do businesses really provide that quality of service in 2023??? Well, I learned they do. She then dispatched a service rep to my house who arrived in less than an hour. Justin (HVAC Technician) and his apprentice (Eli) showed up and immediately went to work. It was confirmed I had a problem. I would also like to note they were two of the most professional and respectful young men. Probably because they were also raised in the GRMA. Well, my problems were beyond the normal quick repair and the unit installed by my builder only carried a five (5) year warranty on parts. I know what you are thinking "This guy got taken for a ride, all HVAC systems come with a ten (10) year warranty". Confirmed it myself, you can imagine my disappointment. I'm not going to get into the brand but if you are building a new home make sure your builder doesn't install a contractor grade HVAC system with a limited five (5) year parts warranty. Shortly after Brendan (the owner) showed up and walked me through my HVAC issue. I place emphasis on "owner". How often does an owner just patrol around and speak with clients and check to see if employees need anything? From my experience, I'm betting this isn't the norm. He was also an extremely pleasant young man and during the course of conversation I learned Katie is actually his sister. Talk about family owned business. Now I know why my first impression of her was "This lady really cares". In no time Brendan provided me with several options which ranged from repairing my current unit to four (4) different quotes for complete new units. Due to the age of our current unit and services offered with his company I opted for a new unit. I could not be home this day and left Betty to deal with the installation. To her surprise the crew showed up on time and got right to it! In less than six hours the crew removed my old unit accompanied with an attic air handler and installed a complete new system. She said they were clean and curteous the entire time. In addition Brendan even stopped by a few times to see how things were going. For transparency purposes this process didn't go without issue. We ultimately traded one problem for another. Betty is no longer able to hold hot yoga classes in our home but I now have rental space for local butchers to hang meat. Not sure if our old unit's air handler was improperly installed or if our new one is just that much better but the air flow and efficiency is beyond compare. I'm thankful the first two places I called couldn't get to me. Would I use BAJA Heating and Cooling again? Yes, this is the only HVAC business I will call in the future. I imagine my downstairs unit with gas furnace will go next and I'm confident when it does, Katie will have someone dispatched and Brendan will provide a solution at a pace and fair price no other business can compete with. Thanks again BAJA Family for the great service."
"Fantastic company for your heating and A/C needs. Kevin and Wes made the long drive down to the Outer Banks to replace my entire system. They were on time and greeted me with a handshake. I showed them where they could gain access to the attic space, and they got right to work. They tag teamed the job very efficiently even having time to talk with me about the new system that was being installed. When the job was complete, they checked to make sure everything was working properly, showed me how to use the thermostat and cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. I highly recommend this company and look forward to working with them again for other heating and cooling needs."
"Best heating & cooling company out there! My HVAC went out yesterday and it was 90 degrees in my home. I called BAJA Heating & Cooling and they literally came out within 2 hours that day! Cody was amazing. Very professional and made sure everything was working properly before he left. He was the absolute best! Reasonably priced and honest work. I will definitely be calling this company again if I ever have another issue. GREAT JOB!!!!!!"
"Outstanding, knowledgeable, and thorough. I've been serviced on 2 different occasions; one for a failed air-condition situation, and two , a Generac 22KW install. Both support calls were 100% successful. The pricing and cost was much more reasonable than if I'd used someone else. Baja is now my "go-to" generator, heating and air-conditioning company; hands-down. Case # 1: I'm in a new resident home build with state of the art systems that were configured incorrectly. My home had reached 92 degrees Fahrenheit within hours. My office is at home which includes heat sensitive equipment. I contacted my heating and air conditioning installers and was put on a schedule a week out. Really? So I contacted Baja who responded to my call the same day and resolved a multi level problem within an hour. Case#2 - I'd lost power for 2 days due to a recent storm. Once again , my home was full of humidity and high heat within hours. I asked BAJA to research and install a new state-of-the-art Generac system. I wanted a fully automatic standby system installed "soup to nuts". The system was delivered to my door within 2 days and installed a couple of days after. They performed a thorough test successfully and a follow-up test 3 days after, to ensure a stable system. Everything went without a hitch."
