Ziggy's Street Eats 1503 Portsmouth Boulevard, Portsmouth, VA 23704

"I heard about this place from a local foodie influencer online. She mentioned that it used to be a food truck and now have a building. She tried rice bowls, jerk chicken eggrolls and the lemon crunch cake, and the hot honey wings. I decided to try the jerk eggrolls and the lemon cake. I can tell you there is not much parking available small parking lot or i can park on the side street or take a chance parking across the street. I walked in it a small place with a limited seating menu is not too big along with items i mentioned they also have wings shrimp, salmon available. That day the had a lamb chop special. The prices are about what u would expect from a food truck. I got the eggrolls 2 per order and a slice of lemon crunch cake...18.00 a little pricey. The eggrolls good size and full of chicken had a good spice level but the flavor was lacking. The lemon cake was pretty good, nice and moist. The Customer service needs some work also wasn't bad but could be better. I still want try rice bowls and wings so I will probably be back."

"Ziggys Food truck opened a brick & mortar …had the Salmon bowl (they offer chicken/salmon/shrimp or all meats in a combo bowl). Had the jerk chicken egg rolls(to me they were rather spicy). Both had crazy flavor tho. Even the rice in the bowl had some sorta sauce that was amazing, the bowl was white rice with salmon peppers onions and I believe the sauce on the top was what they call ‘ziggys sauce’ Now they high -u can easily rack up a 40 dollar tab for one person w 2-3 items(pricepoint vs similar fare) $20 for the bowl, $11 for 2 split egg rolls, and a free canned drink -oh and if u use a card /not cash they charge u a surcharge for that too. Parking was a bit challenging, may be about 6-8 spaces on the property, and street parking on the opposite side of the bldg. But overall: the food was quite good, didn’t take long, good counter customer service -this isn’t food flavor combinations you will find somewhere else. Worth it. #ziggys"

"Ziggy street eats is a stand alone restaurant that was previously a food truck. One of their popular menu items would be the jerk chicken egg rolls. I gotta admit that this item was the only intriguing part of the menu. Other selections in my opinion was just average items that you would find anywhere. The food has flavor and the jerk chicken egg rolls blew me away, but I waited over 30 minutes to get it while on my lunch break. The person giving me my order did apologize and offered me a free drink so it did satisfy me. Order ahead if you are deciding to eat here because the food is good."
