Hardee’s 5900 West High Street, Portsmouth, VA 23703

"This place used to run like a well oiled machine. I've been coming here since I was a kid. That's 20 years of knowing what this place is capable of. But the passed couple years it's just been horrible. Super slow, and I mean slooooow. Took me 25 minutes just to order when walking inside, and waiting on the food can be even longer. Just witnessed customers getting frustrated, and the workers are frustrated. If I had to guess, the choke point is in the back. Food is made way too slow, or not prepped. I just don't know. But the fact is has continued this long means management has failed. This isn't my first time making it known through some kind of feedback. It's sad cause this place used to be great I am updating my review a couple weeks later as I just went up there 10 minutes before noon and they said they're not serving breakfast even though that is what they are supposed to do. So I said to her and you wonder why you're getting one Stars everyday, and her response was we're not getting one Stars. She must be thinking that I said that they are at one star. I said they are getting one Stars if you look at the past few months or even a year it is one star over and over and over. I just went up there at noon on a Sunday and there was not a single person in the Drive-Thru. That alone tells a lot because that Hardee's is never dead on a Sunday"

"I visited in the late morning and ordered two chicken fried steak biscuits for $5. I had to pull off to the side, which was no problem. My food was brought to me by one of the courteous staff members. I was going to take them home to eat, but they smelled so fresh and delicious, I couldn't wait. I devoured the first one, being careful not to burn my mouth. Well, the second one didn't make it home with me, either. Thank you for the freshest, most delicious food I've had from a drive-through in ages, Hardee's!"

"This particular location will no longer get my business. My husband is a cancer patient and wanted a Hardee's biscuit before treatment. As we walked in my husband fell. Customers and employees watched and laughed as I struggled to get him up. I have no faith in humanity anymore. As far as the food goes he said it sucked. So they ruined it for him."

"I ordered at the drive through. I ordered a #1 combo. 25 minutes later the two cars that ordered behind me got their food and drove off. I went inside and asked how much longer and they said how much longer for what. I said I ordered a #1 and he said that he would start making it now…. I said man it’s already been 25 minutes. He said they only have a few people…. I waited 5 minutes there as the only customer…. What kind of answer is that. This was by far the worst thing he could have said. The two cars after me got their food and left. I drove off without being served. The McDonald’s down the road had 4 cars in line when I arrived. 4 minutes later I had my food. Ridiculous. Everyone in that building should be fired and I should get $10.20 refunded. Absolutely horrible service!!!"

"I do not make reviews like these because at the end of the day we’re all human. However, today was possibly the worst experience I’ve had not only at this location but at any fast food chain. Long waits are normal here (usually 10-15 minutes), but today I placed a mobile order at 10:20 am and was in the drive-through. I was asked “can you hold on a minute” and sat in front of the speaker until 10:31 am for them to tell me “systems are down we’re not taking orders”. When I notified them I had a mobile order I wasn’t asked what the name was on it, I was told to come inside to get it. Once inside, the place was crowded with people waiting. Now, I understand this place is short staffed, but the older woman with short hair and the girl with dreads were very kind even in the midst of the chaos. The woman with 2 nose rings who came in on her day off was NOT. Coming in on a day off can be an upsetting experience but her attitude was repulsive to both her coworkers and the customers even when I attempted to be patient and kind. My mobile order showed as completed shortly after showing in progress, but she was blaming me for not checking in. When I showed her I had checked in as soon as I got the message she continued to tell me I did not. Finally I was told to stand to the side and to just “keep checking in” and no further assistance or refund offered. I was told by the girl with dreads 20 minutes later after standing to the side that the ticket was sitting up there and my food was ready. Which means my order was bumped as completed and my 37 minute wait was unnecessary. This was all the while the other girl was still trying to tell me my order was not received. She was also rude to another customer requesting a refund after his 40 minute wait, when all he said was “I’ve been waiting awhile” and she continued to be aggressive and defensive towards him since she had just come in and it was not her fault. I was happy to take my food and get out of there as soon as possible at 10:57 am."
