"We noticed this gem "Soul Good" located at 1805 Hodges Ferry Rd. Portsmouth, VA while filling one of our 7-Eleven locations near them off of Airline Blvd. and glad that we did. From the moment we walked in as smooth jazz was playing we noticed nothing was short of amazing from their warm heartfelt welcome upon entry to the delicious food served at the buffet bar. Yes...a buffet bar!!! And after talking with the Chef, we learned that the buffet is never the same just like the soul food buffets down in the lower states. Seeing how everything looked amazing and that the fried catfish and fried chicken tenders from the brunch buffet on Sunday tasted scrumptious, it is safe to assume that any choice they decide to put on the buffet will be a good one. Wish we had time to sit and really enjoy Soul Good but we had other stores to fill and needed something we could eat on the go. We did get a chance to speak with the owners before we left to let them know that they did a wonderful job and we couldn't wait to return. Note, they also had a beautiful drink bar. Trust us and stop by today."

"Very pleasant, employees were very nice. Made sure we were given everything we needed. Food is wonderful. Great combo of a bit of everything from grits to potatoes, eggs, fish, chicken, biscuits and gravy. The selection of flavors for the mamosas we're so tasty. Felt just like home."
