"We enjoyed the burgers and rigatoni immensely ….. delicious !!! Disappointed in that we were forgotten with regard to service tonite. We ordered fried oysters for an appetizer and never got them. My husband ordered a beer and never got it. The four of us ran out of water and forgotten once again with no refill. We hope the next visit will be better…. We really like the food and atmosphere:)"

"Extremely confused by any negative reviews of this lovely establishment. I truly think Southbound is one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in Richmond, and that’s saying a lot! My friend and I dined there tonight and have only rave reviews. The atmosphere is 10/10: classy, cozy, and casual-chic. We tried the pork nachos (incredibly flavorful and original), Caesar salad, burger (possibly the BEST I’ve had in Richmond, which is also saying a lot), crabcakes, and tiramisu. Everything was so.freaking.good. Our server was friendly and service was prompt and accurate. We have friends who extol the virtues of their cocktails, but didn’t try one tonight. Wine selection is solid. No complaints and we’ll absolutely be back soon!"

"The atmosphere was great, the service supurb and the food was amazing. My girlfriend had the fried flounder on a bed of grits with a very unique coleslaw. I got the duck and was blow away. The waiter was great at giving us suggestions for things to do and see in the Richmond area."

"Loved it! Great music, nice layout of seating, nice central bar, outdoor patio seating if desired (facing traffic). Torrey was my server and he was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. Pleasant but conversant. The nachos served as an appetizer was enough to make a meal. The pork was so tender...not stringy or dry at all. I had half boxed to take home. The Sangiovese I ordered went well with the pork but not recommended with the pasta. The Cassarecce pasta with shrimp was excellent. Not often a fan of a white sauce, this one had a delectable combination of fennel, chive, and pickled mustard seed. I asked for the trout roe to be left out. Finally, dessert. How could I not order the Chocolate Bourbon Tiramisu? This was heaven (and a strong glucose exploder!). Thank you, Oliver, for the delicious dessert! By the time I left, I felt really good. Plenty of parking in this strip shopping mall. Food is top notch. Service is top notch. (5-6 p.m. review)"
