The Original Pancake House 7395 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042

"Updated: Still the best.... I have dined at two different OHP locations in Maryland and have long been a favorite of their dining. It's sad that these locations are generally very few and aren't located in the most convenient areas. With that being said, my visit occurred on a Thursday approaching noon and was not very crowded. The reception staff was very welcoming, and we were seated quickly. Decor here is insignificant because the food is so delicious and plentiful. As pictured, I chose the pecan pancakes from a large assortment of offerings that put the competition to shame. The pancakes taste homemade and have a high-quality mouth feel. They are flimsy, fluffy, airy limp cafeteria style pancakes produced on a conveyor belt. These cakes are ripe and ready for a cooking competition. Finally, I don't think I can say enough about the ample sides. When you order, your sides plus pancakes could easily feed 2 or 3. The servers will help you to customize your order to your desire, and the price is arguably a steel for the amount of quality food you receive."

"Food was outstanding. Even the fruit bowl we ordered for our toddler was packed with perfectly ripe strawberries I got to steal. Service was lacking. There were three of us, but they didn't ask how many and put us down for a two person table, which doubled the wait. Server was kind when around, but it took forever just to get coffee, and refills were only when we could catch him."

"I’m a big fan of The Original Pancake House but this particular location seems like it was the actual Original Pancake House from location, the layout inside, and overall atmosphere. I felt like I was sitting in one of the 24 hour waffle restaurants. Food and service was subpar. I brought an employee with me after bragging about the quality of food from this chain and was immediately embarrassed. Highly recommend skipping this location as it doesn’t live up to its franchise name."

"The service is great. Food is delicious. I had steak and eggs with pancakes. We also had buckwheat pancakes with turkey sausage and eggs. There was a little wait time due to the popularity of this restaurant."

"We had a wonderful meal! My boys and I had breakfast. The food portions are huge! Everything was delicious and the waitress was attentive. I had "the Works" and my meal could easily be shared. The buttermilk pancakes melt in your mouth. My bacon rashes were huge. So delicious. Skip IHOP and head to He Original Pancake House where the food is better!"
