"First time at Takumi and definitely didn’t disappoint. I wasn’t sure what to expect but they definitely exceeded my expectations with the food quality. The two lady’s were very nice and attentive. I opted to do some nigiris. Out of the 4 I had I definitely recommend the yellowtail w/ uni & the toro (chutoro) in the picture. In my opinion I personally wasn’t the biggest fan of the seared salmon belly, alittle over cooked imo. Will be coming back! Not the best picture but in the picture (salmon -yellowtail+uni - chutoro - seared salmon belly) Update: Since my initial review, i’ve been atleast 4 more times. Everytime I come feels like the food quality is declining. Not necessarily the fish quality, but the sushi rice is very bitter and bad. Came in today for a chirashi bowl, fish was meh. I ordered a chutoro nigiri and I can honestly say one of the worst toros I’ve had now. It’s not necessary the fish but the rice!! almost felt inedible."
"Best of the Best. I have been in the Arlington / DC area for past week. Have eaten very well but Tekuma was the best meal till now. It’s a very authentic Japanese restaurant from the menu to the layout to the level of service. I’ve gotten quite tired of “Japanese” restaurants in the US that are a fusion with Chinese or Korean food. Or even Mexican or Peruvian. This place is the real deal. I sat at the sushi counter and could clearly see first-hand how fresh their fish is. I ordered a selection of nigiri (only the hotate was slightly disappointing - all the rest was excellent). The eel nigiri and the hamachi with lime zest were the standouts. The seaweed salad was also delicious as was their miso soup (full of seaweed). The crunchy shrimp roll was recommended by the staff and was an excellent suggestion. A very impressive meal - with professional / friendly service. Excellent value for the quality of their food. This place gets busy. So best to book a table."
"Review for Takumi Sushi: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely outstanding experience at Takumi Sushi! Every dish was fresh and bursting with flavors, truly a testament to their commitment to quality. An unexpected surprise was their restroom – it ranks among the cleanest I've ever seen. It's clear that they take pride in every facet of their establishment. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an impeccable dining experience!"
"We went there because of the reviews but we were a lil disappointed. It’s not bad, but it didnt taste fresh. Service and the atmosphere is good but we’ve definitely had better sushi. Miso soup was delicious though!"
"Someone recommended this place and I had to try it because the person spoke highly of their food quality so it’s a humble small restaurant with a very good quality food and service where you can feel how fresh the food is and reasonable prices I will definitely go back."
