"LONG TIME FAMILY friend and live just 0.25miles from shop and he RIPPED ME OFF!! trust me. If you EVER trusted anyone, trust me on this! Long story short, I took a completely dissembled 22re Toyota head to him with hopes of just having him visually expect it for cracks and SURFACE it only. Instead he claims he did work on it that was physically impossible, lied to my face about it, and tried to DOUBLE what he originally quoted. LONG STORY: --Dropped head off told him what I needed. "Surfaced and VISUALLY inspect this BARE, NO VALVE, 22re head. how much?" -Larry said, "be $50". After 3 days he calls me to come by. "The head has a crack I can order you one if you need me too" -- I will have to get with the owner of the engine. How much do I owe you, Larry? --"be $100". -"larry, before when I dropped it off you said $50 and that covered cleaning it in your machine, visual inspection and surfacing it. Since you didn't do the surfacing I assume it's worth $50 for your time". -"No, I grinded the valves on it and checked to be sure they were seated before I did the pressure test." --Me KNOWING the valves were on my work bench at home I ask, "How were all the seats? did any of valves appeared warped?" -"they were a couple that I would replace. but can't remember which side" --"Larry, I know and as soon as your shop hand finds my cylinder head you will too that you are lying bold face to me." ---he plays stupid and says he got it confused with someone elses part after his shophand appears with a completely NO VALVE inside head. -"Larry, I come to you DESPITE your bad reputation b/c you have been a family friend and I live within walking distance of here. You tried to cheat me NOT ONLY out of money, but lied about work you CLEARLY didn't do BECAUSE EVERY.SINGLE.VALVE. to that cylinder head is labeled and sitting on my bench at home! *i then point at the empty cylinder head* "Larry, I'll contact the owner to see if he wants his head back or if he'd rather buy a new one from someone reputable because clearly your work and YOUR WORD ain't worth spit." Before you let this man Larry Goff RIP off your customers (like he tried mine) OR yourself, just go somewhere else. trust me. If you EVER trusted anyone, trust me on this"
