"I have lived in Southeast LA for over 30 years and the Gumbo Yaya is legit! It is, by far, the best gumbo I've had outside south LA & southeast TX & it is very competitive with gumbos from LA. They got the roux right! I am astounded to get gumbo (and other south LA foods) of this quality in the Shenandoah Valley. Now if they could only get Gulf shrimp and oysters ;-) .... I will visit the Gumbo Hut again."

"The gumbo hut, exactly what we needed in our town was an authentic Cajun resturaunt! Exterior was welcoming with Fleur de lis ⚜️ and mardi gras decorations. Everything was perfectly seasoned and they put mardi gras beads in the bag! Not only does the food make me feel as if I was in Louisiana having dinner at thr bayou, it all tastes so fresh and as if the cooks took their time for perfection and did not rush it, highly highly recommend this hidden gem in our downtown!"
