"I have been going to this place for years now and just recently they updated their menu. They have added some amazing new dishes such as the Grilled Shrimp over Vermicelli. Even with the current covid situation, they have done a great job at making you feel safe with the new outdoor seating. Not to mention, their Pho is still the BEST that I have had. Highly highly recommend!"
"Went in on a Wednesday night with a friend and was completely blown away. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet and we were able to get seated and serviced within 25 mins. Imperial beef soup & the short rib pho were exceptional!"
"I tried Pho many times at different places but here was the best!!!! Nice atmosphere, friendly workers. Owner was serving us. Again, Pho Soup was Delicious!!!!!!!! Try Kim’s Pho, you would not disappoint . I would give 1000000 stars!"
"My husband and I visited Kim's Pho Kitchen + Bar Restaurant for the first time, after my search for Vietnamese cuisine in Fairfax VA, since we're new in this area. I checked the website and was pretty impressed with how the dishes are photographed. So we went there to check it out! My first impression when we walked in was that it is charming and traditional. There are live plants everywhere inside the restaurant, you can tell there was some thought put into the design of the space to make customers feel welcomed and relaxed. They have a nice bar that looks clean though I haven't tried any cocktails yet. My husband ordered 'Pho Kim', beef broth, rice noodles, filet mignon, topped with cilantro, onions and scallions. Mine was a 'Caramelized Claypot', salmon/prawns/baby ribs simmered in coconut juice, caramelized onions. Served with steamed rice. So in my opinion this dish was very salty and oily. The amount of rice didn't compensate for the salmon and saltiness at all. And I didn't actually see any ribs!? I asked the waiter why the dish was too salty? He said that in Vietnam they eat less protein and more rice because most of the population is poor. So you don't taste as much salt while the sauce is naturally very salty! I seriously doubt that because of the YouTube videos I've seen on how various Asians cooked and mixed all kinds of meats with seafood and overeat. There are no rules. My recommendation is don't order this dish. $22 for a dish using farmed salmon is not worth it. On one hand we do look for authentic cuisine, however it seems reasonable to us that any excess such as use of salt or worse, MSG, should be changed to use healthy ingredients with nutrition on mind. My husband likes his Pho the cut of the meat was great without sinews, the broth tasted good when I tried it. Still better than the 'Pho Cyclo' restaurant we tried before not worth a review. We're planning to go back again to try other dishes and I'll post more. By the way I noticed our waiter always washed his hands after cleaning tables which is so important nowadays in the COVID-19 era since we're moving from pandemic to endemic. I wasn't impressed with the hallway leading to the restrooms where piles of supplies mixed with children's high chairs were stacked and degraded the otherwise aesthetic decor. I think it should be cleaned up so customers have more space to walk without bumping into things, especially a larger person or someone in a wheelchair. They had plenty of parking, and a beautiful outdoor patio as well. Overall, a pleasant and enjoyable experience."
"Visited with some friends and we were very happy with our meal. First impression when we walked in was that it is very elegant yet authentic and traditional inside. There are live plants and definitely good vibes. You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the space and design with the beautiful artwork and greenery. They have a nice bar with great cocktails. Loved my lychee mojito and my friend loved her cosmo. Also - do yourself a favor and get the taro boba. It was amazing the tapioca was made so moist and warm and easy to chew unlike some places. My favorites were the rolls sampler, vermicelli bowl with chicken, pork, and spring roll, and the shaky beef (filet mignon cubes) which sizzling on a skillet when it came to our table. As for desserts, we tried the chocolate lava cake, banana spring rolls with ice cream, and the mango sticky rice. I’m usually big into chocolate but if I had to choose a favorite the fried banana with ice cream dessert wins! They had plenty of parking and a beautifully decorated outdoor patio as well. We had a great experience at Kim’s Kitchen and would love to come back sometime!"
