"i was in market for a motor for 2010 scion tc. once i arrived the service was spot on, he showed me engines, they were very clean. price was much cheaper than any other shops in 200 mile radius. i did read reviews before showing up here and wasnt happy about all negative reviews,but is expected. not many people write good reviews when their happy, only bad reviews when things dont work in their favor.only bad i can say is motor i got was said to be for 201o scion tc but was actually for a scion xb. which wasnt really a big deal just had to swap oil pan and timing belt cover to make compatible. which i planned on changing gaskets anyways to ensure no leaks. he did quote me mileage but dont really believe he remembers all miles on all motors he has. Got motor in and it runs beautiful. doesnt burn oil. couldnt complain about anything. the guys were super curtious, and have numerous engines, lowest prices around. i will def go back here if ever need another engine."

"Honest review; first the disclaimer. If you believe that a used motor/transmission shop knows the history, mileage, worthiness or reliability of their inventory that comes out of a shipping container from Japan. This game isn’t for you; go buy a new motor. Why I chose JDM Engines VA. Like all used engine shops in the area. They were all littered with negative reviews. It’s to be expected. What I liked, the owner responded to some, if not most of the reviews. Which showed me, at the very least, an effort was being attempted. This review pertains to the purchase of a 2JZ-GTE VVTi engine. According to the site, they had one (1) engine in stock. I went to the shop, conducted my own inspection (to the best of my ability with the tool at my disposal) and decided I did not like the quality of the engine. There is no assurance with used motors. Unless you have a bore scope or compression tester. You can’t even start the motors without Frankenstein’ing the ECU/fuel system. I did not find anything wrong with engine, just was more of a gut feeling. After talking, the shop informed me that two (2) more engines are coming in and once they came. I could come back and compare out of the three (3) motors I wanted. After negotiating, reaching a fair price and in good faith. I bought and paid for the engine. Once the two (2) motors arrived, they called, I went back to the shop and inspected the other motors. I selected the motor I wanted and completed the deal. Communication: Every time I called, someone picked up and answered my question(s). They also called me a couple time to give me a status update on the arrival of the other two (2) motors. (5 Stars) Price: The price that was advertised verses the price I paid was a good deal. Everything is negotiable, you just need to know the market and know your budget. If someone buys a new car with an added 5K “adjusted value” on top of the MSRP. Who’s at fault? The dealer for asking more than MSRP or the buyer for paying that amount. (5 Stars) Final thought: (1) Would I buy from JDM Engines VA: YES; (2) Expectation Management."

"Worst place ever Bought an engine for a Infiniti g37 and gave me an engine with a blown head gasket and pressure was very low. Did not want to give me a replacement even though i paid 200 extra for an extended warranty. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. EDIT RESPONSE: you’re a liar and such a scam I have all the calls recorded."
