"A very solid restaurant to check out in Fairmount if you’re in the area. We went on a slow Sunday so we got to learn some of the history of the restaurant and how the aesthetics inside play into its history. Overall the food was good and service was excellent. Not the best ribs I’ve ever had but this is a spot I’d be willing to come back to in the future"
"First time stopping into this local restaurant. Me and a friend ordered the "pulled pork on spiced corn chips" as an appetizer and each got salads as entrees. We were quite shocked when the appetizer was literally just a pile of pulled pork on chips, nothing more. A 4th grader could make a more appetizing plate of nachos than whatever this was intended to be. The pulled pork was lukewarm, and I ended up sending it back because of the meat temperature. Thankfully the server took it off the bill without issue. The salads were tasty, and the apples and carrots were cut very thin and elongated which was cute. The complimentary biscuit/muffin things they served were extremely delicious. I could have eaten those all night but we only got two for each of us. Service was fine, no complaints. The lighting is very harsh on the eyes and took some getting used to. Overall this place was nothing special and I probably wouldn't go back."
"I really wanted to love this place. We were visiting from out of town and made a reservation here, we ordered at 12:50 and our food did not come out until just after 1:50… the servers communication about any back up in the kitchen was non existent, we waited about 20 min for just coffee. The worst was the extremely overcooked eggs on my Benedict, topped with congealed Hollandaise sauce, as of it had been sitting under a heat lamp forever. Might be great on a day when the wait isn’t so long, but previous reviews suggest this is the norm here."
"My friends and I had a wonderful time at Jack's Firehouse. Good vibes and many wonderful food options. We were shocked at how easy it was to make a reservation and they seated us immediately upon arrival. Our server was nice and patient. The other staff members were just as helpful. We ordered our appetizers first, brussel sprouts and calamari. Highly recommend the calamari. The jalapeño peppers were a nice touch. The dinner options were wonderful. I chose the crab cakes which were very delicious. The couscous lacked flavor but the vegetables helped to give it a little more flavor. Overall, would definitely go back again with friends. I would like to try some of their other options to taste the variety."
"It was ok.. it did take a while to get the food at least 40 minutes but we weren't in a rush thankfully. I got the $25 buttermilk chicken and it was very very dry and had a lot of batter, they ran out of Mac and cheese so I had to get a different side The no sugar sodas were limited to only diet Coke and was served in a small glass bottle and mine tasted expired. I wish I had ordered something else. They gave us the world's hardest cookies at the end. When we were heading out one of the bartenders just stared and didn't say anything as we left, it was a bit awkward. They already add a 20% gratuity on your tab. Overall the ambiance wasn't very welcoming and the food just was alright, could have gone to Popeyes for better chicken."
