"I recently purchased two shirts from this store, priced at $165 and $99 — not exactly pocket change. Regrettably, one didn’t fit as I had hoped due to BAPE running really small. When I contacted the store when I got home regarding a potential return or exchange, I was informed it was a final sale. While I respect store policies, it would have been beneficial to be made aware of this beforehand, especially given the significant price tags. Notably, there was no visible signage in-store indicating a final sale policy. I want to mention that the staff member, Lou, was understanding and pleasant, likely just following store policies. However, this experience has left me disappointed with the store’s ownership. It feels disheartening to lose $99, especially considering I was just in the store an hour ago. A word of caution to potential shoppers: ensure you’re fully confident in your choice before buying."
"Jason was a great help! Bet much recommend shopping here"
"I was referred to their store by a friend and had high hopes given their popularity. I bought panda dunks on 7/20 that took more than 5 weeks to arrive to me despite their shipping being stated as 5-10 biz days. I received zero proactive outreach and when I called I got no call back the first time and a quick “I only work the floor in store. For online, you gotta email.” Their employee proceeded to hang up on me. Miraculously my shoes arrived less than a week after this persistent outreach. I would not recommend based on customer service."
"The decoration and art in the store is fancy, but clearly their product selection cannot match their store front. They're defining themselves as a boutique, however, they don't have as many brands as expected. With their location and scale, they could turn out to be like those select shops in Boston and NYC, but the apparels and sneakers they carried are just ordinary and less attractive. It's a good place to hang out, but don't expect to find some desirable pieces here."
"I went in 30 minutes before closing on a rainy day, and everyone was very nice. A lot to take in at first, and we definitely needed a high concept streetwear store that feels like an aesthetic experience. I'll go into Joan Shepp just to look at the layout, and design for creative inspiration, and this store is the same. It's really Joan Shepp, Lapstone + Hammer, Downerrs, and UBIQ (sometimes on 2nd floor) for transcendent experiences while shopping. Streetwear is so illogical, so creative, and instinctive, that it really needs the right medium to flourish. Some skew towards the retail side of things but compensate with customer service, and I really liked the experience here. I followed their instagram, saw that they had the BAPE x SWATCH collaboration for $60 less than stockx, and immediately went back in to buy it. I saw that their VA location gets low marks for poor customer service, but if you're googling around and you're worries you'll have the same experience here, you shouldn't. EVERYONE IS NICE. NOTHING IS TERRIBLE. Have fun wasting* your money. *introducing playful absurdity into the classical rigor of your daily life in the form of aesthetic prompts that stimulate inspiration and improvisational paradigms of seeing the world that inform your life, work, and art, until those three become increasingly hard to distinguish."
