Alternative Community Resource Program (Corporate Office) 131 Market Street, Johnstown, PA 15901
About the Business
The Alternative Community Resource Program, located at 131 Market Street in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, is a health institution that participates in the National Health Service Corps programs. These programs offer scholarships and student loan repayment for primary care providers in the medical, dental, and behavioral health fields who agree to practice in areas with health professional shortages. In 2015, over 9,600 National Health Service Corps clinicians were providing care to more than 10.2 million people in rural, urban, and frontier communities at over 5,000 NHSC-approved sites.
Corps members fulfill their service requirement by working at NHSC-approved sites in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), and completion of all program requirements can lead to up to $50,000 in loan forgiveness. Eligible disciplines include physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, psychologists, social workers, and more.
The NHSC is administered by the Bureau of Health Workforce in the Health Resources and Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NHSC-approved sites provide outpatient, primary health care services to populations in HPSAs, with related inpatient services potentially provided by NHSC-approved Critical Access Hospitals.
For the Johnstown area, this program means the ability to attract high-level mental health professionals to provide better services to residents. The NHSC program is nationally recognized and helps in the recruitment and retention of health professionals.

"if i could give them no star i would. this place should be shut down! the 'care' is horrendous. they absolutely do not care about their patients. i had gone there for several years, seeing Emily George. She is no longer there however i was misdiagnosed, even though i advocated for myself, explaining to her that i believed i was bipolar. she would tell me "dont concentrate on the diagnosis, let's just focus on the symptoms" OK....she prescribed me the incorrect meds for years, making me worse. she is cold and hard to talk to. I had seen Barb once and she told me "your problem is you dont believe in God" WHAT?! I actually reported her to upper management for that. Then i starting seeing another woman - i do not recall her name. She told me "skills, not pills"... and put me on a very low dose/non therapeutic dose of lithium. obviously this made no difference at all. the receptionists were dreadful. not nice and hard to get a hold of. anyways after the 'skills not pills' statement, i left and began going to NULTON DIAGNOSTICS downtown johnstown. WOW what a difference!!!! I highly recommend going there for treatment. i am listened to, correctly diagnosed and receiving proper meds. they care. they are kind. they are professional."
"If you want a Dr who can't remember or doesn't care about his patients that Dr Driscoll is your man.. Also refuses to let the pharmacy refill my sons prescription for medication he's been on for over a year. My son is 9 years old nonverbal autistic."
"These people are the worst neighbors you could have. They are flooding us out here on Knox street for years and refuse to make it right..The higher ups have known about it for quite sometime and it falls on deaf ears..They are ruining our properties with their water runoff..Thanks ACRP for your usual do nothing about it way of business."
"I had high hopes for this place because they are a "nonprofit" that is meant to help families. There are a few good people there but overall the professionalism and teamwork is lacking. My wife worked there and there was alot of high school drama in the staff."
"This place is impossible to get ahold of n no one knows how to return your phone calls and the doctors simply dont care n just hand out scripts like they dont care, even if you tell them the meds are not working or having a bad affect on you. Im getting ready to go down for an appt n I will write a review as to whether or not their services have improved or not, so far their receptionist and the caring standard of that has changed, this new girl is very caring and soft spoken and she does not fear doin her job the best that she can and make the paitents feel at ease."
