"friendly staff, useless and even harmful treatment. You can do blood test, get antibiotics, vaccines and referrals here, but for any other need go somewhere else. If you must come here, double check everything the doctor says on google to make sure their advice and prescription is correct."

"I give two stars because of the travel clinic. I wanted to make an appointment to get vaccinated for chickenpox. A receptionist of UNC campus health services told me that I have to fill out a form to make an appointment with the travel clinic. I knew that the appointment would cost 60 USD. I sent out the completed questionnaire via email. I canceled my appointment later. However, I was told that I would still be charged 60 USD for submission of the filled form and travel suggestions given by the staff. In the filled form, I said that I wanted to make that appointment for vaccination required by my volunteer job rather than for any travel suggestions. A lady from the travel clinic told me that the fee notice is written on the form. I found that there are very small words on the top corner which say that 60-USD submission fee will be charged after submission of the completed form. Indeed, it was my fault that I didn't see the small notice in the first place. The fee notice is too small to see. I felt tricked by the travel clinic."

"I’ve been at UNC for several years and I’ve been seen at campus health since my first week here. All of my experiences have been pleasant, but my last visit in particular exceeded expectations. I went to see Dr. Cefalu in Primary Care for a physical. Right away, all of my concerns and questions were taken seriously. I felt respected and heard as a patient and a fellow human. I don’t think my questions were unreasonable, but they were beyond the typical requests of a routine visit. Dr. Cefalu took the time to address each concern, and went out of his way to figure out how he could best help me. Fantastic work on hiring compassionate providers."

"I had a great experience with campus health. Today I had to have an emergency visit because I fell on the stairs and was concerned that I had shattered my patella. They fit me in within an hour, and promptly gave me x-rays and a thorough examination. They took my concerns seriously and I appreciated that. The nurse practitioner that I had (wish I could remember her name) and all of the nurses were super kind to me."

"This place is an actual joke. I’ve been occasionally to get an injection here for the past year and a half, and every single time I have waited over 45 minutes. Today, when I approached the front desk to ask why I had been waiting for over an hour and to let them know, I was told that the nurse thought my appointment was at 4:20 (it was at 3:40). Even then, I had been waiting for another 20 minutes after the 4:20 appointment time regardless! When I expressed that 20+ people had been taken back while I sat in the same place, another woman chimed in to let me know that there were also ‘providers’ that the nurses had to deal with. Still doesn’t explain why 20+ people have gotten in and out in 15 minutes while I’m waiting for over an hour. My injection takes literally 15 seconds to complete. First it was the nurse thinking my appointment was 4:20, then when that excuse failed it becomes ‘well the nurses are busy’. While I’m sure they are, it’s completely unacceptable to make an appointment and be told an hour later that you’re complaining for no reason. The two women at the front desk also laughed at me when I told them I’d just sit down and continue to wait (which I’m continuing to do as I write and complete this entire review). Avoid coming here at all costs! (Edit: The nurses themselves are always kind and do good jobs. This review completely deals with the functioning of campus health and the front desk workers. How are there so many reviews talking about how rude they are and nothing changes?)"
