"I moved into the Drake in late October. An older building like the Drake has unique attributes and character that make it truly special. The location could not be better, the apartments are large and livable, the building staff are friendly and welcoming. I appreciate that the desk is always staffed. It helps with packages... and provides a level of security. Older buildings can have maintenance issues... but so far.... the few minor issues have been resolved quickly. The leasing agent who showed me the building, Tyler Simmons, was so helpful. He saw me through several visits and my move-in. I'm giving The Drake 4 stars... because it's not perfect... but close."
"Moved in about two weeks ago. Tyler Simmons, the leasing agent, was very helpful and nice, was prompt in answering my questions. The receptionists are very nice and welcoming as well!"
"I recently moved into The Drake about 2 months ago and all of the front desk and residents are so sweet and amazing! In addition, the biggest hook for me about this complex is how clean the laundry floor is. However, I had a few issues come up during the beginning of my move. Specifically, this past weekend I put in a service request for my toilet because it would not flush. It was not clogged or anything. The front desk staff and I tried reaching out to the maintenance crew, and they notified us that it is only considered an emergency if there is a leak. All weekend I had to go without a toilet. The following Monday (today) I still was not notified about fixing my toilet situation. I live in a studio unit, and the toilet/bathroom is starting to develop a terrible sewage smell. I reached out again today to see if this can be fixed ASAP since I work an 8-5 job, but I still have not gotten an answer. Considering that this is a much older building, I can say many positive things about the residents and front desk staff. However, unless your apartment is leaking and in severely bad shape, be much aware that you will be waiting awhile for anything to be fixed by maintenance! I hope this can be resolved soon and I also hope I do not have to encounter anything this severe again!"
"I booked this place for two nights and was past the cancellation policy when I figured out I didn’t need the room. I checked in on time and paid in full for the room. I didn’t use it the first night but may have stayed in the city the second night but wasn’t sure. The manager contacted me after the first night to ask if I was going to stay or not the second night and when I told her I didn’t know and didn’t think it was her business, she cancelled my room. This is horrible customer service. Then when I said this was terrible, she said I was harassing her bc she was a women. Typical victim mentality these days when someone gets called out for poor customer service."
"Called to inquire 1b apartment availability - It was pretty difficult to hear or understand the rep due to the background noise on the other line but on top of that, she was talking beyond fast with an attitude and it felt like I was just listening to a bunch of gibberish. She took my name, phone number, and email down, and right after, the line went completely silent. After waiting 2 minutes on the line, I just hung up… No one called me back nor emailed me (it’s been 2 days). That’s just a terrible first impression and definitely won’t be renting here. If that’s how they deal with potential prospects, I can’t even imagine how they treat existing tenants."
