Southgate Middletown

"I recently moved to Middletown NY from out of State and cannot be happier, I work in the area now and needed an apartment. What a great place I found, it is called Southgate at Middletown - clean, pretty new and management was so helpful and friendly I can t believe it. I had one small issue with Garage and Bill from the office took care of it within 5 minutes. Great area, nice people, dog park, garages. I am so happy, Southgate is the place to Live !!!! We love it here."

"I've lived here since my apartment was built. I'm the only tenant that has lived here. My apartment is great. My location is great. I like that I have a top floor so I don't hear my neighbors. Staff is helpful and friendly. I am disappointed in the neighborhood. It has changed so much. This is definitely a dog lovers complex. When I moved in, animals were not allowed unless they were service animals. Now everyone has a dog. I am awakened at 530am daily because of barking, howling, crying. I've reported this to management and they said they can't rectify because I don't know what unit it's coming from. Now I have to suffer. I work nights and like to sleep late, not be awakened to dogs. DO NOT MOVE HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEPLACE QUIET AND PEACEFUL. Edit* neighbor has moved and things are back to great. People should really look into separation anxiety remedies for dogs. It's not fair to the dog or your neighbors."

"Sorry, reading that review I highly disagree as I have lived here for years. I have had nothing but great experiences at Southgate with Billy and Jackie. They have been very respectful and kind. Maintenance has been outstanding with the snow storms last year and responding to work orders in a timely manner. I don't agree with the rent increase but that's the economy these days. Highly recommend if you're looking for an apartment. I plan to stay at SouthGate for a while."

"This was a great place to live until Jackie and William took over. They run the place unprofessional. They don’t do screenings anymore and let anyone move in. Jackie who works in the office has no experience at all. She was the cleaning lady turned office manager and is a bully to those who allow her to be. They post office hours and are never there. The buildings are not cleaned as often like before. The maintenance crew are absolutely amazing. The best part of the place."

"I used to live there for about a year. When I first moved in they promised a heated pool and open gym. Unfortunately the pool was never heated, the gym is always breaking up. The pool is never being taken care of. Plus it’s way to expensive. The location is painted as a great place to raise your family but unfortunately they couldn’t deliver the standards. A lot of families live here and this settlement created a DOG park instead of a park for our kids…. I thankfully don’t live here anymore but my aunt does. The only great thing about this place is your own private apartment and garage but this is the basic standard for living in a complex."
