"I’ve been staying here about a month. I can’t recommend. So far: A pregnant woman was trapped in the elevator. The garbage chute was clogged; issue was fixed after many days but the entire building has smelled like garbage for weeks now. I have no water currently and won’t until management can get a replacement part. The building is newer so it’s quite confusing to observe so many issues and this level of mismanagement, yikes."
"While it’s expensive, it’s right on par with everything else in the area. It’s very safe and the front desk staff and leasing office is wonderful! Walking distance to so many things and perfect if you work out are a patient at CHOP or HUP"
"I’ve lived in 3737 for a year long. It was fine until this year in August when the trash chute has been broken til today for almost 2 months. The trash has been stacked all the way to 22 floor. The smell of the entire building is intolerable. It’s like living in a gem and bacteria dish. Mouses and cockroaches have showed up. The management team hasn’t taken any actions or proper explanations. The manager got extremely defensive saying all the existence of bugs and other little unknown stuff is a seasonal thing not caused by a 22-floor high trash pile. Extremely disappointed! Avoid this place as much as possible."
"I lived here for 6 years from 2016 to 2022. I would have stayed, but they wanted to go up on the rent almost 20%. I tried to see if there was room for negotiation, but it didn't work out. When I first lived here the building was a Bozzuto building and then transitioned to a Korman building. I absolutely loved Bozzuto and I liked Korman well enough. When the pandemic hit, Korman did work with me and gave me a 2 year lease since I knew as a healthcare worker I wasn't going anywhere anytime soon while COVID was raging. I was able to walk to and from work at a moment's notice so the proximity to all the University City hospitals is a definite plus. They keep the building clean, but occasionally some residents are not so great with their trash disposal and/or pets. They send out reminders to everyone when/if it's a problem. I never had a problem with noise. Repairs were always done in a timely manner. The package storage amenity is a plus and the gym is decent too. With the way they do rent increases, if you are a Penn/Drexel student or if you have a temporary assignment (i.e. fellowship, residency) at a University City Hospital this would be a good temporary place (1-2yrs), but after my experience I can't recommend it for long-term. I wavered between 3 and 4 stars but ended up rating it 4 because the maintenance staff and Nicole the concierge always greeted me warmly and we had many good conversations over the years. They were the people who made it feel like home."
"3737 CHESTNUT is an elegant new apartment building located at University City, a few blocks from the Science Center, the Innovation Plaza and the Wharton School of Business – great location. It is at a short walking distance from nice restaurants, a beautiful park, a movie theater, grocery shopping, etc. The apartments are spacious, modern, and have good insulation. I have lived in this building for 1.5 years, and never heard any noise from the bedroom above mine. The management is respectful and helpful. Particularly noticeable is the professionalism and fair business skills of the Assistant Manager, Mr. Christopher Bedrick, who goes above and beyond to work with the residents and to create a pleasant environment. Maintenance responds quickly, and they would not enter my apartment without authorization. The building has had several social events, in addition to holiday parties. They also offer regular yoga and zumba classes, and the gym is spacious and has many machines. And you can have a pleasant view of the historical St. Agatha St. James church while using one of the several treadmills or elliptical machines. There are also beautiful views from the rooftop deck, a good place to barbecue and relax during a nice sunny weekend."
