Reviews of the metropolitan bala
"RUN and RUN FAST from this complex! Great area , close to downtown and highways. Unit prices vary and each unit does not look the same. The maintenance team is non-existent and your issues will not be completely resolved. The walls are extremely thin and the plumbing and water pressure sucks. Also no central air the complex controls the A/C and heating. Now , Management gives this place zero stars. The property manager Shanna Anderson needs to be fired immediately. She is not professional and per other reviews it is true that she spies on tenants. Also she is a liar. Very rude personality and not a people’s person. Now, Britney is very nice and honestly throughout your application process that is who you mainly will speak with and meet not Shanna. Also if you ever decide to ask for My Metropolitan corporate office number Shanna gets very rude and hangs up on you. Also, this complex does not tell you that they automatically add the utilities onto your monthly rent payment so you will not necessarily pay what your rent is. Example: Rent = 1,490 Utility bills vary but it can be anywhere between $118-200 so you end up paying 1,600+. Have not seen any rodents but I won’t be surprised if they still exist."
"The positive reviews here are from years ago when there was a different property manager. I lived here for 1 year and it was BY FAR the worst, most disgusting, most depressing building I’ve ever lived in. I cannot stress this enough - you will probably regret moving here. Below is a list of pros and cons of living here: PROS: - There is running water CONS: - Mice infestation - Building is extremely dirty - The property manager (Shanna) spies on the residents (this is common knowledge among the residents, this is not an exaggeration) - The dog park is really just a tiny strip of dirt out back, and it’s ALWAYS littered with shards of broken glass. Another resident found rat poison on the ground. - The property manager (Shanna) will most likely steal your money with fraudulent charges at move-out - Most people use the back door to exit the building because the property managers KEEP TABS ON WHO COMES AND GOES through the front door - Elevators are USUALLY out of order (be ready to use the steps every day)"
"This building has a serious mouse infestation that management has not addressed. They will provide you with a few mouse bait stations and sticky traps, but besides that, you are on your own. Extermination is not covered in the lease so expect to pay out-of-pocket. No matter how cleanly you keep your apartment, you WILL be living with mice. My top and bottom cabinets and my coat closet are infested. I recently learned they are also capable of climbing up the clothes in my closet to higher ground. Don’t move here unless you want to live amongst mice."
"I like Lisa and Katy, they are both very friendly and patient. I am a PhD student and just moved to Pennsylvania last month. The metropolitan bala is a perfect home for me and I would like to stay here for my next five years. I love the well maintained gym, clean hallways, the quiet sundeck, plenty free parking lot spaces and street parking. I wish I could have washer/dryer in unit but it's actually not a problem sharing with tenants each floor. The laundry room is very clean, and I can find an available machine every time so far. Not to mention my new sweet home. The only problem for me now is I don't have any friends nearby (but my neighbors are very friendly). I hope they will host some tenant social events if possible. Definitely will recommendation here to my schoolmates if they consider moving."
