Westbury Apartments

"The Westbury is a very special place, living here feels safe and comfortable. The staff issues quickly and are very professional and friendly. Great area, everything within walking distance. The views are great, my little cat is endlessly entertained looking out of the windows. There are some usual noises on weekend nights but nothing out of the ordinary and the windows block most sounds. Overall this is the quietest apartment I I’ve ever had due to what I assumed to be very thick walls. These older buildings are solidly structured gems. Highly recommended."

"The Westbury was my first apartment out of college and it had checked all of my boxes for a dream home—a historic building in the heart of the city with hardwood floors, tall ceilings and a big, beautiful bay window to set my desk in. However, the real gem of this place ended up being the University City Housing team. The staff had always been so friendly, helpful and community-oriented. And after 2 years of reasonable-to-no rent raises during the most intense era of COVID, I vowed that as long as I worked in Philadelphia I was never going to leave the Westbury, or at the very least the UCH system. Recently my partner and I have made the step to move in together, causing us to require more space as we both work primarily from home. As a result, we opted to move into a brownstone owned by UCH. To say that Cal and Forrest, the leasing officers, have been accommodating towards both of our move-in schedules and overall wants and needs would be a massive understatement. They have been downright saints. I don’t believe I would’ve been able to navigate this move with anyone else. If you are considering the Westbury as your new home, there’s not much I can say about the building that you won’t see for yourself once you get there—it’s absolutely gorgeous and I think that alone speaks for itself. But at a time where property managers around the country are refusing to take care of their rentals, refusing to get to know their tenants, and yet demanding 50% renewal increases from them come the end of their leases, I cannot shut up about how important it is to have a team like UCH who will actually treat you like a part of a community."

"The BEST place to live in Philly. I moved in with a roommate who had been there four years, and I could see why. You can't beat the price for the location - it's super central, close to bars, restaurants, Rittenhouse Square, Suburban Station, and anything else you could want for city living. The management and staff are so kind, which I hear is rare in Philly. You can tell they actually care about you and the building. It is an old building so things can break or need replacement, but maintenance almost always comes the next day and are very professional. I would never have moved out if I didn't have to relocate to another city. Cannot recommend the Westbury enough!"

"I moved to The Westbury in April 2021 from Brooklyn. I wanted an apartment centrally located, well appointed and with windows for my plants. I found all three when I signed my lease with The Westbury. I've since renewed twice and am happy to call The Westbury home. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The building is older and full of charm and history. I live in a one-bedroom and have plenty of space for all of my hobbies (plants) and loves (my cat and more plants). If you're looking for a place to call home, I highly recommend The Westbury."

"This review is long over due! Keeping this short and sweet, I can talk about how great my experience is for a while! Moved into the Westbury Summer 2019 and lived there for 3 years total. Over this time all the of staff have been super helpful and kind, it was easy to start calling it home quickly. If you treat the staff and management with respect they will adjust to your needs. Any issues faced were dealt with promptly. No complaints with the Westbury! Only reason I left is because of work in a different city. If I find myself back in Philly I will be definitely checking in to see their apartment availability. Special thanks to Forrest and Kal!"
