"Timothy Mealer Very disappointed in this place told me he was available Saturday to do a job and basically never called nor responded to calls!!!!"
"Be sure to read all the reviews. All the positive ones are from employees. If you are a shipper or driver best looks elsewhere for your needs. If any problems arise they just ignore you they don't care about the driver's or the shippers."
"I leased on as an Independent Contractor about 4-1/2 years ago. Great place to lease on with. I haul loads I want, where I want, and I take off when I want. No one bothers me. I get paid within 24 hours of delivering the load and turning in appropriate paperwork. I give them an A++++"
"I joined American transport 11 or 12 yrs ago, when the company I was with became an agent for them, I have found everyone to be helpful and there when I need them. My settlements have always been on time and the people are great!"
"I've read the reviews posted on American Transport and would like to respond as the President of the company and an employee for our entire 31 year history. So yes, I'm looking at the company from a different perspective, but I believe I'm known for being honest and open. Most of the contractors who posted had two things in common- they were doing a no-money-down lease purchase deal with a third party not related to us, and they were working with our former van and reefer division, Network 1. No-money-down truck deals typically attract drivers with no money and no credit, many of whom have had their own trucks in the past and lost them. Not to say they are bad people or bad drivers, but they may not be the best business people. And that's OK; not everyone can do everything well. You wouldn't want me behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer! But if you are getting into a business with no money invested and already behind on bills, you've already set yourself up for failure. Now factor in that many of these trucks have been "rode hard and put away wet", and the uphill climb just became steeper. However, we recognize that our former van and reefer division wasn't doing us justice, and cancelled that agency agreement in early September. That one's on us. Finally, I can honestly state that we pay our contractors every penny they are due, no less and no more. We're not a charity, we're a business, and we've run this business with integrity since starting it in 1986. There are many reasons why we've succeeded this long, one of which is that our leased contractors know that their settlements will be done on time and they will receive what they are owed. Thanks for reading. David Hartman, President."
