"I moved out in June of 2023, and I still haven’t received my security deposit back 6 months later. On my bill, it stated I would receive 2 years worth of my security deposit and I still haven’t received it :) Management has been super unhelpful about where it is!"
"The apartments are filthy. They look nothing like the photos on their website. The first apartment was so disgusting, we refused to stay in it. Old food all over the kitchen counter and stove. I would never recommend renting from these people. One of the roommates had 3 people bunking in the Livingroom for months. They never did anything about it. Apartments are filthy."
"Proceed with caution. Very sleazy and unpleasant people. They initially assigned me to a very filthy apartment. The attached pictures was the state of my unit when I moved in. It had water all over the floor by the fridge and holes all over the walls. After weeks long battle with their corporate office, they finally agree to transfer me to a different unit. I also filled out the move in conditions form for the new unit, but after my lease ended last month they said they misplaced my move in conditions form and then proceeded to charge me $230 for damages. How is it my fault if you guys failed to keep necessary paperwork like every other landlord does? Go rent someplace else if you can. Be very careful if you have to go here."
"As a lease applicant to West Run I am very grateful to the management and especially its wonderful lease consultant McKenzie I was assigned to. Because of my poor credit my lease was approved with conditions McKenzie took her time, effort and kindness to explain to me. At first I felt humiliated over my poor credit and the lease conditions I had to meet, but McKenzie reasoned with me, helped my overcome my feelings of embarrassment and reaasured me with her trusted advice to do the right thing. I came to trust and value McKenzie and accepted her advice. Hopefully everyone should have a trusted lease consultant like McKenzie."
"I would never in a million years recommend anyone live here. Not only will they price gouge you for all of your money, but they have the WORST management on the Earth. My roommate broke the lease in 5 different ways daily (a pet she didn’t pay for or report, ran an acrylic nail business out of her room, had her boyfriend living there unreported, etc.) and after reporting her several times AND providing proof of all of this, the best they could do was send her an email informing her she was breaking the lease (which didn’t do anything, obviously). On top of that, they didn’t clean the apartment before I moved in, and now that I’m moved out they are charging me a $50 cleaning fee for water scum in the tub, WHICH I ATTEMPTED TO CLEAN SEVERAL TIMES WHILE LIVING THERE AND IT WOULDN’T COME CLEAN. They are also charging me over $100 for a couple TINY spots of paint missing (from bad command strips) and for garbage MY ROOMMATE left. Furthermore, they are claiming I didn’t pay a security deposit (I did), so I have to pay the “damage” fees out of pocket after paying the security deposit (plus over a year of pet fee deposits). On top of ALL of that, the electrical bill was nearly $300 for my last month, when NO ONE WAS LIVING THERE. They base the last month’s electrical on “estimations” from the same time last year. So even though NO electrical was used the last 2-3 months of my lease, they charged me nearly double a “normal” high electrical bill based off the usage from June/July of the year prior. The apartments are nice, have a good location to WVU, buses to campus, and the maintenance is quick. But it is NOT WORTH IT. West Run will eff you over time and time again. DO NOT LIVE HERE."
