Atlantic Rehabilitation at the Children's Specialty Center

"Update - So their supervisor emailed & called me and explained what happened & apologized things and we are back to where we were. Hopefully it won't happen again. I have two sons and We come here for speech therapy. They put "hold" on my oldest son's record which means they are not going to submit more sessions for him. They asked me to book one more session then they will submit? He's authorization period has ended so how they are going to book? They only said they put the hold because they booked 2 sessions that was after the authorization period ... now they found this? Also, This can’t be right since we been calling our insurance and ask how many sessions has been approve and length of the authorization period etc. Then tell the people at the center.. I was doing their job. We been doing this for a while since it takes FOREVER to hear from them and book By the time when they call it's already near the end of the authorization period so we can only book maybe 2 then have to wait again. We asked them to contact our insurance and ask for extended time which our insurance is more than happy to do it. But, they said they won't do it Now his brother’s last session and authorization period ended too and even though his therapist said she will submit for more sessions for him and told us that she’s been talking with her supervisor name Kathy about My older son and we will get a phone call from her ... but, no call and nothing form his therapist after that. It'ss been almost a MONTH. This is really frustrating. Why are they holding? Every time I call they kept saying we will email the therapist and get back to you and never gave us the details"

"The pediatric rehab center of Morristown is nothing short of AMAZING. Our regular physical therapist, Amanda is fully credited with how well our son is doing. When we started, we were so concerned about his overall development. He has made so much progress in such a short time. We have also met with eating therapy as well as fill in physical therapists along the way- who have also made such a positive impact on his development. We have been with them since he was about 3 months old! Everyone is so kind there, from check in to check out! I truly can not say enough great things about the team. They really reassured me in so many times that were stressful and overwhelming. They all rock!"

"I am bringing my 5 year old for OT, but also have a 5 month old. I was told that my 5 month old isn’t allowed to come in due to Covid policy. I am very disappointed as this results in me having to send in my 5 year old alone into a closed room session if therapy with me, as I am forced to wait outside with my 5 month old. This means I can’t watch to learn and reinforce what they do at home. During the pandemic most people don’t enforce covid policy for children under two, so this outdated and non sensical policy is really hurtful to any mom with multiple small children, especially when just trying to get their children the help that they need."

"Waited over a month to get any sort of appointment for an initial consultation and was told he had to be seen in morning hours. I asked front desk if they would be able to accommodate appointments after 4 moving forward after the initial appointment and they said yes.. Fast Forward to day of appointment I was told my son needed therapy for the next two months biweekly as he learned to walk..his therapist was patient and fantastic with him.. once we finished and tried making an appointment the next available after 3pm was two months out when my child should be done with treatment… next available appointment anytime was 3 weeks out .. needless to say this practice needs to stop accepting new patients if they can’t not accommodate them for appointments. This is not a practice for working moms. Very disappointed because his therapist was fantastic which is only reason I give 2 stars"
