"We’re in foodie heaven here in Alexandria while visiting - trying to choose where to go in very difficult. We went to Jula’s, formerly cafe 44, run by a Disney trained chef. We were disappointed, and quite surprised that we were disappointed. The view was okay, cause it was nice to see the Potomac river again… we could see D.C. and Maryland. The thunderstorm was fun to watch as well. The drinks were amazing. The Halibut and gnocchi was pretty dry. Like the gnocchi was bone dry. Over-seared as was the fish. We were very embarrassed. The lobster bisque was really really good."
"Wonderful experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food. The homemade biscuit and gravy or honey butter absolutely must be tried. I'd order that as a meal next time! The homemade key lime pie was to die for. Majority of the group didn't care for the potato side, one of them saying the potatoes were not cooked through, so I took off a star. Otherwise, the food got a round of thumbs up. The price was fair for the view and dining experience - good for a vacation brunch just once, but not somewhere to go for frugal eating."
